However it's spelled....is there a cure?

I only have one add on under my belt and I'm dying for another one. The thoughts of GFV have me dreaming of an awesome new experience. I'm still loving the $99 for SSR and would gladly take on more points there should hubby give me the go ahead!!! I'm about to become an OKW lover in 111 days and I'm almost positive it will make this condition worse! What's the cure????

Think hard about the impact of the annual dues on your budget - that usually does it for me, LOL. Remember the dues hang on for what seems like forever!

If that doesn't work, figure out how much extra the extra trips will cost in total ( transportaion, tickets, food, vacation time, etc.) and then divide the $$ toal by 12. Will you be sitting at home every night eating bread and water to support those extra trips?

Don't forget out figure out how much vacation time you get from work and see if yu can live with what's left. Speaking just for me, I still have to have time to do family stuff, friend stuff, husband stuff (he doesn't want to go to Disney for every trip) and still cover emergencies like funerals, sick time, etc.
My boss is generous, but he does have his limites, LOL.

Still need more? ;) :teeth:

I am really tempted to add on, but not really in a hurry to do so...

We leave for OKW in 6 weeks, we have a weekend booked at Wisconsin Dells in Jan. and want to camp in either/both Black Hills, SD and/or Yellowstone next summer.

I am just trying to plan non-dvc trips for a while and see how many more points we want/need.

You could be a doctor :)

You betcha there's a cure. Annual dues. Brings you down to reality real fast. Even if you pay them monthly (they do that so you don't really realize how much you are paying annually).

Add up what you have spent at Disney so far with your DVC membership and see if you would have spent that much if you were just an occasional visitor.

We've had a nice 14 year run with DVC, but we're slowly doing other stuff. For example, just bought new checks the other day. Didn't get Mickey checks, got wilderness/animal checks instead. Replaced the Mickey bath towels with plain ones.

However it's spelled....is there a cure? . . . . . . .

Addonitis is like a bad rash; you can rub cream into it, it kinda goes away, but come back when you least expect it!

And I agree with Deb & Bill; the annual dues is really a self-regulating feature of DVC.

WOW! I agree - say it ain't so! :sad2:

Is this a disturbance in the Force, or what!?!

I haven't been tempted yet, but thoughts of DVC @ GF really has me dreaming. In fact, I am completely obsessed! I may need to take some "happy pills" to get me through these next months before incentives (if there are any) are finally announced for current DVC members.

In less than one year of ownership I have added on two times. One time was on a April cruise and second time just this Saturday.

It's a tough thing to fight. :sad2:

We bought a small BWV contract last August and stayed at BWV in January. During our trip my DW and I figured we didn't have enough points for what we wanted to do so we bought another small resale contract before the March deadline. We now own 155 points and I think we've got enough...... but then again ????? :confused3

Good luck with your decision. :)

I did one add on and that is enough. We have to work to use the number of points we have.....Well if the Poly DVC opens....

DH and I bought our first contract in September 2010 - we then added on a 100 point contract in November 2010 - I've put the brakes on add ons until Grand Floridian is confirmed / announced - but DH did give me his blessing to do an add on there. :goodvibes

I do agree with the PPs though - the monthly dues could be enough to make me re-think the planned Grand Floridian add on :confused3
