The following information was learned today in a discussion with airport officials.

Airtran operations will be moved to the "B" side aproximately 20 June 2007. That includes ticketing and baggage. "B" side is the side of the Disney Welcome Center and the move should be very convenient to the Disney passengers.

Approximately 10 June 2007 the "B" side commercial lane will be striped in a similiar manner as the "A" side was done in early April. Althought I haven't seen the final plan, I was in the working session, I am sure all busses will be dropping off passengers at the middle of the commercial lane rather than at the beginning or the Delta end. The drop off will occur more convenient to passengers flying out on United, U.S. Air and Northwest.

Recently I have been observing passengers arriving on the baggage floor who have come in on Southwest, Jet Blue and a few of the smaller airlines including Air Tran. The Disney representative on the floor trys to explain to the passengers they have to go back up to the third floor, cross over and down to the first floor "B" side to the Disney Welcome Center. Today I saw three separate families give the rep a hard time or voice their opinions about how much trouble it was. They chose not to use the luggage option of the DME.

If you are arriving on these airlines and you want to drag your luggage all over the airport than, so be it, but don't give the Disney representative a hard time because he has to send you to the other side of the airport. Disney gives you a chance to get rid of your luggage and you refuse to use the service. Especially Southwest passengers. I think all three families flew in on Southwest. The rep told me he works on that side quite a bit and a lot of people complain about having to walk to the other side. If they had used the luggage option or read the papers and heeded the advise given, their walk would have been from the third floor down to the first floor on the "B" side to the Disney Welcome Center.

You fly in at a very cheap rate, you get a free ride to Disney and you want to complain about it.
