Adding under 3 child to dining plan

Do you know if I can add (pay for) my 2 year old to be on the dining plan when the rest of us are on the free dining plan? DS is 2, but is turning 3 1 month after the trip and he really needs his own meals.

Well, I suppose you could, but then you'd also need to buy park tickets for him, as well. The offer states that all members of the ressie need to have the same tickets. You'd probably save $$ by just paying OOP for his kids' meals- most are only around $5- and he can eat free at the buffet and all-you-can-eat restaurants.

Are you sure that I would have to buy him a park ticket because he is not 3.

Under 3 Cannot get the meal plan. The only way you can get the meal plan for him is to say that he is 3...then you will have to buy a park ticket for him.

It states in the dining plan brochure that you MUST purchase a park ticket in order to get the dining plan regardless if you are paying or not.

Unless you child is picky and only eats kids foods, I'd just ask for another plate for him and let him share with the adults and probably plan more buffets than I normally might...because he is entitled to a plate at the buffets, I believe. Also, what is to stop you from ordering him a meal and paying for it. You can do that as well.

I called about this too since my daughter will be 3 the week after we go and can eat more that $11 food a/day, especially at WDW prices! But alas, no you can't add them unless you say they are older and buy them park passes.

The kids eat all they want at the buffets and all you care to eat restaurants. It'll cost you less than $10/day for a kids CS and occasional TS meal.

If you use the buffets you're not going to get charged if the child has a few chicken fingers etc to gnaw on. If you eat at a table service or counter service I'd just pay cash for any extras you need to buy for them.

Normally true but OP was asking about a child under 3 that won't be charged no matter how much he eats.

Many waiters won't charge if a child over 3 eats very little. No guarantee so don't count on it.

Our youngest turns 3 right after our trip in September. He was not included in the free dining plan originally. I called and spoke to a CM and they were able to change it. They changed the ressies to reflect that he was 3 YO. I just paid for a park ticket for him and now he is on the plan. In our case he has Peanut and Egg allergies. He does sometimes share with is older brother but his brother's favorite is PB & J. It just makes it easier to be able to have them each order their own meals when they want.

Hope this doesn't start any kind of flame war.....I called, explained the situation and they accomodated.
