Adding through resale

Hi there,

In December we joined DVC at Copper Creak (bought direct). We know we want to add on at some point...probably in the next year. After thinking about it, I think we'd like to add at a different home resort. We like Wilderness Lodge but we also like staying over at Boardwalk/Beach Club because we enjoy the walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. We thought that it would be nice to get points over there so that we could book there 11 months out when we want to stay over in that area. Those resorts aren't available with direct contracts so we were thinking resale might be a good option. If we already are direct members, is there any disadvantage of using resale to add to our membership. We'd still get all the direct benefit, right?...because we do have a direct membership. Would we lose out on anything by doing this resale buy?

Thanks...
Jess

Use the exact same names on the new resale deed, buy the same UY to make your life easier.

No you would not lose any thing going resale as long as you keep your direct purchase you will have the Perks. If you were to sell the direct down the road and only have the resale left on your membership at that point you would loss the Perks. In short keep the direct keep the benefits with or without resale.

The only difference would be that the points purchased resale wouldn't be able to be used for such things as cruises (though most wouldn't recommend that anyways).
