Can they take away the ability we have currently to use resale points at other resorts (except Riv)? I.e. I have restricted SSR points that I can use everywhere but Riv and new resorts. Can they alter that again and say, "You can only use them at SSR from now on"? They may not do something like that, but are they legally allowed to do it?
The only way they can restrict someone to using points at their home resort is if that resort gets removed from BVTC...Right now, owners get to trade between the resorts because of that agreement. When RIV entered, it entered under different rules.
As long as SSR belongs part of BVTC, all owners...doesn't matter if they are direct or resale..have to be able to trade to the L14 resorts. If something happened and SSR got removed from BVTC...and there are very specific ways that can happen...not just because they decide...than all owners of SSR...won't matter if they are direct or resale...lose access to the other resorts.
Now, the extreme option...would be for BVTC to be dissolved, all resorts have no trading rights...and then each resort gets into a new agreement with someone to allow trades...which then could technically change the rules. But, that would be so difficult to achieve...that it would make no sense, because that would impact even direct points while the changes happened (but you asked about any legal ways)
Basically, all L14 resorts will always be able to trade with L14! But, I will add, they can add a fee for trades...they can create trading charts...and they can even have different rules for each of the different resorts...again, not very likely, but legally allowed. Those changes, though, can't differentiate between resale and direct...well, maybe the fee if DVD decided they would pay for it for certain owners.
