We have travelled to WDW several times with my DD14 who has diabetes and we do take advantage of the DAS that WDW offers. We primarily use it as a backup in case things go sideways with her medical condition and in conjunction with the fastpass+ system. On our last trip I think we made use of it only three times or so but it was invaluable at those times.

We are a family of 4 and will be arriving on August 19th. So we go to GS and request it our first day. My question relates to additional family members arriving 3 days later.....her aunt and cousin. Can we get them added to her DAS (to a maximum of 6, I know) or is that not possible? Any advice or information is welcome.

Yes, you can add them.
We have done it multiple times.

When the additional people arrive, you, your daughter and the additional people go to Guest Relations in any park.
Everyone will need their Magicbands or park tickets. Let the CM know that you need to add some guests to the DAS and the CM will take it from there.
If you have one or 2 above the usual maximum of 8, that is usually not an issue. It is an exception to the usual, but is usually doable. 12, not likely. But 7 or 8 is usually not going to be.

You can add them at Guest Relations or even swap some people out if needed. I started with my sister and brother in law, as well as my parents and husband (for 6) on my DAS, but then my sister went home and my in laws came into town. So i went to guest relations and removed two people and added the new group members. It is a bit of a pain to need to go to Guest Relations, but it is easily doable. And they do not need to reissue the DAS, so you will not need to explain or answer questions (at least in my experience).
