Adding one person to ADR at the last minute?

We have several ADR's made for our group of 8 for May. My nephew is in the Army and has decided that if he can get leave, he may come down and join us for a few days. But...he may not find out until very close until the time to go. Will it be a problem adding one more person to our ADR's at the last minute? Or should I call now and change them all to 9 people and then if he can't go, there will only be 8 of us? I can't remember if they're charging us ahead of time or not for any of them. We do have one Character dinner (Chef Mickey's) plus the Fantasmic Package at Hollywood & Vine. Any ideas? Thanks for the help!!!

I have heard of others not being able to add people in. I think it depends on your party size. If I was a party of three, I would be seated at a table for four. Adding in the additional person is not a big deal. I would see if you can change some of the ressies because taking one away doesn't seem to cause a problem. Obviously, don't change your Fantasmic package yet because they charge per person if you are not there. Because your party size is so large, I am not sure if the restaurant would just be happy to put a chair at the end of the table or not. I have people meeting us during the end of our trip but the days are still up in the air. I booked our last ADRs to include the person just in case.
