Adding on or purchase different home resort

We currently own at BLT and have loved our DVC experience. We purchased by resale and always planned to add on points. We love BLT for many reasons but also think as our kids get older we may like to stay closer to EPCOT. The yacht club is most appealing to us. The 11 month booking window would be a must for the food and wine festival. So some questions and a wwyd?

Can we transfer points between the two in order to book a larger room at the 11 month window?

Same use year seems highly recommended, does that hold true for two different home resorts?

So what would you do and why? Add at BLT or expand your home resorts?

YC is not DVC. But you could purchase BCV instead.

Points always retain their home resort and UY. So BLT points will always be BLT points and BCV points will always be BCV points. At seven months out, they could be combined to book any DVC resort that was available.

If you are looking for BCV, you'd need enough points to book there at 11 months out since your BLT points couldn't be used until seven months out for F&W. And you really need the 11 month booking time for F&W.

You can not transfer BLT points to BCV (YC is not DVC) for the 11 month window, you would have to use BLT points at 7 months.

Same use year enables you to have it all as one account, and therefore easier to manage. You can also combine them at 7 months for one ressie, as opposed to making 2 at 7 months (one from each account), or using your once per year transfer. I would try for one UY, (as I will be doing), but for me it is not a 100% must. A nice contract with a different (but good) UY would do for me.

I own VGF and have on my December agenda to look at BCV specifically, as my next purchase. In large part for F&W/Epcot.

Slim pickings at 7 month during W&F...if they know they want to add on, why not at BWV or BCV and have 11 month advantage?

IMO you should stay at a resort before buying, just like taking a car for a drive before buying.

We bought BLT before staying there and it just doesn't do it for us like the other resorts.
