Adding nights at 7 months to the beginning of a 11-month reservation

I want to add 2 nights at 7 months (using alternate points) at the front of a 7-day reservation that I did at 11 months (making the total reservation 9 nights). Will I be able to add both nights at 7 months or only be able to add 1 night and then the next day the second night?

I do not know whether the online modification program will actually allow that (you can try if points are from same use year-- it will definitely not do it if points are from different use year), but, if not, you can easily do it by simply making one new reservation for the two nights at 7 months out from the first night and then request MS to merge (same use year) or link (different use year) the reservations.

Thanks for your help. All my use years are the same but I need to use a blend of contract points to add the 2 nights. I knew it would be "busier" at the end of my reservation so adding nights at 7 months would be impossible, so that's why I made the 7-day reservation for the back part of the reservation and planned to add to the beginning.

I think you need to grab the 2 nights as as soon as you can, and do it as a separate reservation. Then, maybe (I'm not sure about this) you might be able to call Member Services and they might be willing to combine the two reservations together. But I do have my doubts about that.

Member Services gets very adamant about people trying to take a reservation made in the 7 to 11 month window and then switch the points to 'pay for it' with points that can only be used in the 0 to 7 month window. They absolutely might not be willing to combine the two reservations, because then you could potentially modify it to remove some of the points that had Home Priority. For instance, maybe you could then modify the reservation and cancel the two days on the end, but move those points into the previous reservation, freeing up the Home Priority points.

However, that is not necessarily bad. If the 2 days that you pick up for the end are in the same resort and the same room category, then maybe you can call member services and point out to them that you have two consecutive reservations at the same resort in the same room category, and could they please put in a note to request that you be allowed to stay in the same room for the second part. In other words, not combine the reservations, but just be able to keep the room, rather than having to check out and check back in and get a different room. I've never tried that. Maybe it won't work.

In the old days there were some issues with linking reservations, e.g., such as being required to check in twice with the linked reservations. Those problems no longer exist. A linked reservation is now treated at the resort as one continuous reservation, with no risk of having to change rooms or check-in twice.

It is definitely possible to do online using the modification process. I did it at 7 months to add a night at the beginning of my VGF reservation using BWV points.

Awesome! That's what I wanted to do. I'm not trying to change what I did at 11 months at BCV, just add 2 nights at the front with my BWV points. Thanks for your help!
