Hi, I notice online that I can book the DLH for just one adult (we all have dream passes) and pay to upgrade to a family room for 5. I assume because I have paid extra for it they would have to give us a room for 5 so I could add the rest of us to the room at check in or do you think they might try to give us a standard room because it was only booked for one person?

I would contact Disney since room only rates can not be booked online.
If you have finalised an online booking with 1 adult then Disney will have no way of knowing that additional adults need to be added to the room booking.

To upgrade to a family room it shows me as paying £586 extra . As the OP states they paid to upgrade to a family room Disney will provide a family room. If they did not I would be demanding that £586 back at check in.

It was a package with tickets for one adult I was looking at (not booked yet just weighing up options). Under room options you can change to a family room for 5 for about an extra £200 per night!! Maybe I will phone and ask before I book anything but I was thinking that if I had paid that much extra for a bigger room they really couldn't justify not giving it to us.

sorry lilacgems we must have been typing at the same time. It is not so much the money that concerns me but the fact that I would want to add 4 more at check in so need a 5 sleeper room.

I don't think there'll be a problem with this. I know there was one occasion when a DISer booked a room for one adult and when she tried to add others at check-in she had been allocated a king-size room so there weren't enough beds to sleep 4 and as the hotel was full it did become a problem.

However this shouldn't happen in your case as you'll have already paid the extra for a family room (plus the supplement for a single person).

What I'd do is email them a few days beforehand mentioning that you've booked the family room as you'll be joined by other members of your family. I don't even think this is necessary but it would put your mind at rest. Then all you'll have to do is pay the city tax for the others.

yes, i'd do exactly as Elaine suggests, book the family room and contact the hotel a few days before you check in to explain you will be adding 4 other guests when you arrive.

Yes those damn single adult supplements.:confused3. I didn't really think that there would be a problem but it is always nice to get other peoples opinions too. :goodvibes. Doing this works out a lot cheaper for us than just booking us all into the family room so we might be able to stretch to DLH, so excited just thinking about it.
