Adding Genie + now includes ticket price increases

How about adding hopping? Why would this be any different?

Disney just keeps adding insult to injury.

BOO!

Wow. JUST WOW. Sure enough, if I were to add it to all of my days, now, the price went up almost $60 (family of 5 for 5 days). Unbelievable. So, if I buy it the day of, is it still just the $15/day (or whatever the prevailing per day cost is, but hoping that it won't go up more between now and April 12th!!). ARGHHHHHH!!!!
WHAT. Does this only apply if you are adding Genie+ for everyday of your trip? Or will it still cost extra if I add individual days during my stay?

I planned on just adding Genie+ for my Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios days once it becomes available at midnight. In this case, am I going to also be charged for an increase in ticket price?
This particular issue applies to adding Genie all days of your ticket. As of right now daily is still $15/pp

So will this method allow you to go on the latest rides without Genie + or are there some new rides that you can only go on if you purchase Genie +? Right now I am so disappointed in what seems like squeezing every penny out of us and not even being able to get on the latest new rides without paying extra that I have no interest in going to the parks.
All of the newest rides (ROTR, Remy) have stand by lines. There’s nothing you physically can’t go on without Genie+

It really isn't different than adding the park-hopper and/or waterparks options. Adding either option after a ticket price increase may or may not result in an extra charge to bring the tickets up-to-date. With date-based ticket pricing not every date ends up with a price increase so there may not be any extra, just the add-on charge. Reports last week varied from $0 to >$50 per person.

Except it sounds like it's programmed into the app for Genie+ so you'll get the increase every single time it applies. I have never heard reports of ticket increases being included when upgrading to hopping.

This makes me feel better about having just gotten Genie+ for every day. Was originally thinking about being strategic and not adding it for Epcot or Animal Kingdom days but my husband said to just get it every day.
That is exactly what my husband said last night 😜
I’m trying to save money where I can and figured we didn’t need Genie+ for AK at the very least, and probably Epcot, but all of my “What if they raise the price? What if it’s not available? What if it’s busier than predicted and we need it for all the parks?” was driving him nuts. Bought it this morning for all 8 park days.
This is us exactly. My husband was like "why stress about it every day, just buy it now and consider it as part of the ticket price"

Anyone know what's happening if you add it just one day? If you have a 10 day ticket, are the charging you the full difference plus the cost of Genie+? So if your ticket went up $35, Genie+ will now be $50 for that day? Who does that? It's ridiculous.

Are ILLs being handled differently? Surely those don't come with the ticket adjustment since it's not a ticket option?

Good thing I already decided this system is a steaming pile of dog poo and I wasn't going to buy it next time anyway.

You can’t add it to just one day ahead of time. If you want just one day, you buy it that morning and it’ll cost $15 plus tax - so no, it won’t add on the ticket price increase.
