Adding Dining to a Room Only

We are just under a month away from check in and want to add the Dining Plan to our room only reservation. I've read some mixed information on this matter. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience to share? Are we too late to do this?

You still have time to add the dining plan, but you will have to book a package. If you already have tickets you can CALL and book a ticketless package. Your room only reservation will have to be cancelled and the deposit refunded. Since you are within 45 days of arrival the full amount of the package must be paid when you book it. Note that there are significant differences between room only reservations and packages with regard to modification and cancellation fees, penalties and deadlines.

Thanks. I have tickets from UT already linked. I'm good with the different requirements for a package - we usually book a package- just thought we'd go a different way this trip and here I am back looking for more than room only! I guess my concern is about availability. Is the switching of the reservations just a formality or is there a chance I might be told there's nothing available? I'm guessing my FP+ won't be affected because they are related to my UT tickets. Wish I had just done it from the beginning!

Ok then. I know about the ticketless package. I specifically asked an additional question about switching the type of reservation and potential availability issues. Thanks for your input.
 
You shouldn't have any problem with availability. You're not asking for free dining, you're just adding it to your room only. It does automatically make it a package and you will have to pay in full when you call, since you're within the 45 days, but you should be fine. Call them!

Thank you. Since I last posted I did call and had everything switched. They did have to cancel my room only and book it again as a room with dining package. The only hitch was when the CM stated I would have to re-book all of our FP+. I knew that was incorrect and asked to speak with Guest Services - apologies were made for the misinformation and everything was then taken care of properly.
