Adding DDP to room only

Can you add DDP to room only reservation.
We bought Canadian discounted tickets, so needed to do room only reservation. I called to add on a dining plan and it seemed complicated. Cast member wasn’t so helpful.
Will this mess my reservation. Has anyone done this. TIA

You have to call to do it, and it will change the booking to a package with package rules for payment.

Yes, they can make it a ticketless package. Just have to call back and get a more knowledgeable CM.

And when you call specifically ask for a ticketless package with room and dining.

You may have to call more than once. If you get a cast member who is not helpful, simply thank him or her and hang up. I was adding tickets and ddp and still had issues with my first CM (said I couldn't do it w/o losing my room only discount---uh, no!). Called back and no problem with a different CM.

Call back and say you want a ticketless room plus dining package. Agreed, you might have to call more than once or twice before you get a CM who has a clue.

Thing is, the reservation will no longer be room only, it will be a package and you'll have to adhere to package rules for payment, changes and cancellations, which are different from room only. That may be why it seems complicated, since you are basically changing the character of the reservation.
