Adding Days To Tickets?

Hello I love the Dis boards and have learned so much from you all! We are going to Disney in June , staying at OKW for the first time (we have stayed at POR for the last 10 years ) We have decided to purchase 10 day park hopper, no expiration PLUS tickets since that seems to be the best deal for us since we seem to return every year This trip we will probably use 5 park days. I seem to remember reading here that you can add those days back on to your tickets while at Disney for 3 or 4 dollars a day per ticket. Can someone confirm this for me, this is very exciting Have a Disney day Thanks!

Sorry, never heard that before. I know you can add the no expiration option after you use some of the days, but I think it's still full price. Never heard of adding the days back on though.

I suppose you could exchange your remaining days and purchase another 10 days pass, perhaps saving some money that way, but I have no clue how much that would be or if you would save any money.

You can't add more days onto a 10 day ticket.

You can add days to a ticket with a lower number of days. For instance, I originally purchased an 8 day ticket for my husband. We did a short trip so I upgraded to a 10 day non-expiring ticket.

You can only upgrade a ticket to another ticket with more days. Since 10 days is the maximum ticket they sell, you can't add days to it.

I am almost positive there was a thread about doing this just a couple weeks ago! Maybe I wasn't clear with my question! I want to add the used 5 days back on to the 10 day...to make it a 10 day again, I know I can not go over 10 days, I read it has to be the original number of days of the original ticket I hope I am making sense I told my DH about it as I was reading and he asked me about it so I am pretty sure I wasn't Disney Dreamin Thanks to those who already answered and hoping someone can tell me what I want to hear

Yes, I understand what you were asking. You can't do this because essentially you are making it into a 15 day ticket. You are essentially talking about "reloading" a ticket for just a few dollars vs. buying a 5 day ticket which costs more. Disney doesn't let you do this.

It sounds like you just want to spend a few extra dollars, so this may not be for you, but have you ever thought about trading the tickets in for an AP? It will be more expensive, but if you can come back in a non-peak season period when Disney is offering hotel discounts and stay for more than a couple of days, the hotel discount will probably make up for the extra cost of the AP.

I used 5 of 10 days on my 10 day non-expiring MYW ticket...can I pay to upgrade to an AP? I didn't think I could!

Yes, you can pay to upgrade to an AP but if you didn't do it within the first 14 days following the first day of use, it may not be worth it. Here's why:

If you "upgrade" your 10-day pass within those first 14 days, you will get the full gate price of that pass applied to the cost of an AP. The anniversary date of the AP will be back-dated to the first day that the pass was used.

If you're past the first 14 days following the first day of use, even with a non-expiring pass, you will not be able to "upgrade" your ticket to an AP. Instead, you will be allowed to apply a "dollar credit" towards the cost of an AP. That "dollar credit" is not ½ of what you paid for the ticket. Instead, the value is based on a more complex fomula where the first day the pass was used is worth more than the second, which is worth more than the third, etc.

The value of the half-used 10-day pass that you hold is closer to the difference between the gate price of a 10-day pass minus the gate price of a 5-day pass. In terms of dollars, it would be $410.03 (the gate price of a 10-day hopper, no-expiry) minus $297.14 (the gate price of a 5-day hopper, no-expiry). So, you would get $112.89 to apply towards the AP.

This seems to be similiar to the thread I read about adding days back on to tickets. We did talk about buying an AP but we are not sure if we will be able to go again this Christmas because of 2 daughters in college and 1 in high school with different breaks. Maybe what I read was how the cost between a 7 days ticket and a 10 day was only a few dollars more per day So...maybe they were saying you can add back on days to an existing ticket for xx amount of dollars Thanks for reading my ramblings
