Adding days to park ticket from TA package?

I know you can add days onto a standard park ticket bought through discounted ticket places by using the ticket, going to GR and adding on days with a price rollover based on the current ticket prices. Do the same rules apply when going through a travel agent that does agency exclusive rates and has a room/ticket package deal? I have a friend who may be going through a TA but her dates overlap two deals plus a no deal period in between. The TA has to split up the reservations so the can only get them an 8 day ticket but they really want a 10 day. I suggested that they just add on two days after using the ticket at the park since the room was super cheap, but she said the TA said it wasn't possible to do that. Thoughts on how to get around this? Or is the TA wrong?

If your friend is booking an agency exclusive package they are probably getting a restricted ticket like a convention ticket-they are sold at a significant discount and cannot be upgraded one onsite. Our recent trip was through a very popular agency on this site and they definitely sell convention tickets-if the ticket includes a "bonus 1 day admission to a water park" it is definitely a convention ticket

You nailed it. Exactly what she has. Thanks for the insight!!

The TA is right . . . and wrong. Yes, convention tickets can be upgraded onsite, but only up to that 8 day convention ticket cap (for example, they could upgrade a 5-day convention ticket to an 8-day convention ticket and maintain the discount). They can upgrade to the 10 days, but they won't retain that convention ticket discount when they do it. AllEars.net has a good explanation of how you can upgrade a convention ticket:

If they really want a 10-day ticket with the TA exclusive, I would suggest booking room-only with the TA and purchasing the 10-day tickets through a reputable third-party discount seller like Undercover Tourist.
