Hello. I will be staying at a Deluxe for 7 nights. For the last three nights my adult son will be joining us. I know that I need to add him to the room ressie, but will they charge me for all 7 nights? He will be using magical express, so there is proof that he won't be there for the entire time. any thoughts?

My suggestion is to not add him until after you arrive, but that might mess up what you've done for Magical Express. In the past, when we've added grandparents for the last couple of days, I would let the front desk know which days they would be arriving so we could get a parking pass and key cards for them. A couple of times they waived the extra adult fee and the other times they just charged us for the nights they'd be there. That was before magic bands.

If you wanted to take care of it before you arrive, you can always call to explain and then, re-check things once you arrive to make sure you're only charged for the nights he is there. I think that is doable with a room only ressie. Not sure what they'd do with a package since everyone in the room is supposed to have the same package.

Good luck.

You can add him when you check in. That will enable him to use Magical Express as well.

If he's added now and there are already 2 adults in the room, then yes, you will be charged the extra fee for all 7 nights. However, you can add him when you arrive for just the 3 nights he will be there and then make arrangements for him to use DME. One negative with doing that is he will not be able to book FPP ahead of time. Also, if you have a package with tickets and/or DDP, he won't have either of those and will have to purchase tickets/pay for food separately.

He can book at 30 days out. So maybe the family can work out which ones should be at 60 days and which ones should be at 30 days out. If all three want to ride together, book those at 30 days. If only 2, then book at 60.
