Adding a person to BOG lunch ADR

I have a 2:10 lunch ADR at BOG for 6 people on 12/18. My 23 yo nephew who lives in Orlando has just asked to join us that day at MK. I added his name to my MDE account thinking I would search for an ADR for 1 person for around the same time as ours. There is availability at 1:45 for 1 person but when I try to make the ressie, it says I have to cancel our ressie for 6. Does he have to have his own MDE acct? What am I doing wrong? Since lunch is seat-yourself, what if we just show up and tell them nicely that we have a party of 7 instead of 6? I already put a request for a party of 7 on the Touring Plans ressie finder and I will keep looking on MDE up to the day before also.

You will need a second MDE account. I do not recommend showing up with extra at BOG; they tend to turn away anyone without an ADR.

I am in a similar situation than Kazi7. I currently have a reservation for 1 at Be Our Guest at 12:50pm, but a 2nd person will actually be with me.

I thought that it should not be a problem as I always have an empty seat in front of me when I go at BOG and other restaurants by myself. Is there a more strict policy than what I hypothesized?

Yes. BOG lunch books to restaurant capacity, not based on table sizes. They frequently turn away those without ADRs.

I find it a bit difficult to believe that increasing a party from 1 to 2 people would be a such issue: I went to BOG countless time by myself and I always had 1 or even 3 empty seats at my table! So it should be a good thing for Disney to have as few single eaters as possible, isn't?

I do remember that we show up at a podium of the left side of the line to register and to get the menu. My souvenir is more fuzzy about the following step. What would happen whether I pretend to be actual solo, whereas a 2nd person join me for the line on the right side? Is there a further control along the road?

OK, I was fortunate enough to just get a reservation for two, so no worry.

But what if you're the 7th person in half an hour to show up like that? 10th? BOG takes ADRs for hundreds of diners per hour. They book to capacity, not to table size. So just because you took a table for 4 alone doesn't mean they didn't book +3 diners who are wandering about looking for a table.
