Adding a night outside a package

Have any of you ever added a night outside of your package you booked? Here's my situation, I can book a package thru Costco for 4 nights (that's the max), we wish to stay 5 nights. If I book an independant night thru Disney, I'll end up with the exact same rate as Disneyland's package, but I'll get the 3 character meals and the $20 gift card additional, so that's about $116 extra.

The person at Costco I spoke to said it's totally doable, and they can link them together. But there is no guarantee we'll get the same room. What do you think? Thanks!

If you book through Costco, can you call the Disney Travel Company and have them extend your stay on their end? That way it's all one reservation and you still get your bonuses.

I do this thru Costco all the time staying at The Sheraton Park. After I make the reservation thru Costco I call the hotel directly... I get them to give me a really good rate and they connect my reservations so no switching rooms...sometimes I have to do a lot of talking to get the good rates but they will. First they will tell you the package room is more expensive so I tell them I will be happy to let them store our things while they switch our rooms and they don't want to go to the extra effort. So yes I have never had to switch rooms and I have it all planned for this December again.

BTW Sheraton Park gives you a $100. Gift card for food when you stay four nights with a Disney package even if booked thru Costco.

Ah man, I am trying to do the same thing as you.. add an additional night through disney, but they only have a concierge room available for the night I need. Ah!
