Adding a fourth person to free dining????

Our family vacation ended up falling in line with my mom's vacation, and she has decided to go with us in September. However, her time off may change so she can't totally commit and be put on our ressie right now. I'm planning on calling Monday with the rest of the general public, to get FD. My question is....can we add my mom to our FD ressie sometime before we go? The original ressie will be me, my DH, and DD4 in one room at POP. I just want to make sure that we can add her in a few months time without losing our resort or FD. If it's not possible, then she'll have to pay OOP.

I don't know for certain, but I would say she would have to be on the reservation prior to getting the Free Dining.

I would add her right away and not wait.

It's much easier to have her removed later than to add her later.

I wanted to add it will only cost you the extra adult in the room charge which isn't much.

Will she be sharing your room or getting her own? If getting her own, definitely book her room when the FD promotion starts. You can cancel it up to 45 days before arrival without penalty.

If she is sharing you room, then add her when you know her plans.

Free dining involves purchasing a package that includes park tickets. From and after the 45 day mark, generally, there is no penalty for upgrading a package (i.e., making it more expensive by adding another guest). After the 45-day mark, there is a penalty for downgrading a package (reducing the package price by deleting a guest.)

So, if she is sharing your room, I would add her now if she will definitely know her plans by the time you pay your package in full at the 45-day mark. If you won't know her plans until after the 45-day mark, add her when it's definite that she's coming and pay the extra price then.

Also, adding her costs more than the extra adult rate. You also must purchase a park ticket for her. In the past the required purchase has been a one-day ticket. I don't know if that is still the case.

Technically the only thing that would cost extra would be her tickets, Room price is the same for 3 as it is 4 (actually, they might add a nominal fee for more than 2 adults) and Free dining wont cost either!

Double occupancy is covered by the first two adults. Actually, it is extra for the third and the fourth adult.

It is $10.00 at values; $15.00 at the mods; and $25.00 at the deluxes. That is per night. She will be charged the extra for the third adult.

You would be charged a fee if you changed your reservation less than 45 days in advance of check-in, and dining must be on your ressie no less than 72 hours in advance.

I can't speak for what they do now, but I added a 5th person to our ASMU family suite free dining reservation in 2008. It was still within the promotion booking period.
