Adding a day to Costco tickets

In the past, I was given the “gate price” for my ticket upgrade, not the (lower) price I paid for the ticket at UCT.

I don’t know how this might or might not work with the Costco tickets, but we go on Labor Day weekend, so I will keep checking here to see if anyone tries it!

There has been reports of people who were given the full gate price for ticket upgrades but it is the exception not the rule. Just like there have been people who had their expiration date be the date they upgraded not the first day they used the tickets they upgraded.

There was one report somewhere that noted that the person (this was third hand information from a post on reddit) was given a credit of $420 ($450 - the $30 dining credit).

Okay I have some questions again and totally know that there might not be great answers until I actually get on property but I figured I would ask anyway. I am going to try and add a day to to the 3-day Costco park hopper. We are there and have reservations October 3rd, 4th, and 5th, I'd like to add the 6th to the pass, it's a Monday. I have never added a day to any pass so I am completely clueless. Would it be best if I go to the gates on our first day to do it or will that lose us the lightning Lane? I read that you have to do it with one day left on your pass. That makes me think I need to do it no later than Saturday. We do get there on Thursday the 1st and have tickets to oogie boogie so I could stop and ask at the booths that day too. I'm a little concerned that if I wait until the last day that we might not get a reservation for it, I did book a reservation for our magic keys for that Monday just in case we can. Hopefully this all makes sense. I'm a little confused.

In the past, if you upgraded a ticket to a MK during the course of the ticket days, you lost all of your park reservations. I don’t know if that is true going from a 3 day ticket to a 4 day ticket, as would be the case here. The wisdom there was to upgrade at the end of the last day of your tickets, once you were done in the parks, so that you didn’t have to worry about that. But that may not be too fun with your parents, as when we have upgraded in the past, each person who was upgrading their ticket had to be at the ticket booth to do the upgrade. Not great late in the evening! If you can do it on the app, that would be great, but I am not sure if this can be done.

Not sure what would happen with your LLMP, if they are already booked, but I would plan for them to disappear possibly. Another reason to wait until the end of the day on whichever day you attempt it.

We were there with our Costco tickets this weekend. No issues whatsoever, but I decided against trying to add a day, so I didn’t find out the process or cost, unfortunately. Good luck and let us know how it works, and how much it costs!

Thanks. I'll definitely report back. This one is my trip with my daughter and her friend, no parents this time. We have time when we get there since we can't get into OOB until 3, I'll go ask if there is no line just to prepare myself. I was going to upgrade with my parents in November but I don't think they can do a fourth day anymore.
