Does anyone know if I can add a day using regular points to a reservation that was booked with DPs ???
If I need to make a seperate reservation how does that work??
Will I need to check in and out twice and switch rooms??
TIA
:flower3:

Well... I called MS and the CM said he wasn't sure...:confused3
He said he knew he could make a seperate res. and link them
and hopefully I wouldn't have to switch rooms but no guarantee...:sad2:
I really thought someone out there said that they combined the points...

Yes, you can combine DP's with your regular points. I have done that. It doesn't have to be even numbers of points either - ie. if you need 12 points for the room and have 6 more DP's you can use 6 of your regular. Also, if the reservation is linked then you should be staying in the same room.

We have combined points before and didn't have any trouble.

Who do we call to link reservations, MS or Reservations? My sister made a one-night ressie for us at Grand Californian, adding on to the 3-night ressie that I made using our DPs. I THINK she requested the reservations be linked but I'm not sure. Who do I check with? I'm guessing MS.

I don't think that cash and points reservation can be linked since they come from different inventories.

Is the ressie that your sister made with points or cash? If points then call MS. From my understanding they should be able to link them but the names on the reservations have to be absolutely identical.

If it's cash then you'll probably have to wait until you check in at the Grand. My experience is that they try to be accommodating (and I doubt they really want to have you change rooms any more than you do!) and as long as you've reserved the same type of room then you will probably will be able to stay in the same room. No guarantees however.
