Adding a day (park ticket) to package at check in?

We are flying in and have a doctors appointment with a nearby doctor for inpatient testing before our vacation. We are anticipating getting discharged before lunch, but could be later in the afternoon, making our arrival to WDW later. IF we get discharged early, is it possible to add a day so that we could go to a park that evening during check in?

You add days at the parks, we did it at Guest Relations outside the park. I don't know if the ticket counters can add days or not.

You can have your package tickets activated early at Guest Relations to enter a park prior to check-in. You can then add on a day to your tickets.

You don't really need to add the "day" at check-in for that extra first evening.

You can just go ahead and start using the tickets that you have after you check-in, and then add the extra day later in the trip (like the next day, or so.)
Same price to do so, and can be done when you have a bit of extra time in your day.

Is is true you can only do this within a certain time frame? Example adding on last day of package doesnt work. For some reason I have this in my head. I know convention/ group tickets, the agent has to do. cant add at disney ( magical deals etc)

If you have current tickets (we have 2 day park hoppers for Free Dining) , do you have to pay full price for a ticket to a particular park or do you just pay the difference toward an extra day from your original ticket?

Just to be clear, you need to do it while our tickets are active. You can't use 2 days on the 2 day ticket, show up on the third day and get the price for adding a day.
