Adding a day on, once you are at Disney?

We are heading down next month. Our plan was to check out of Disney the morning of the 17th to go to Legoland and then go to a hotel near the airport for our flight home the next day. I am wondering what would happen if instead we asked to extend our room at Disney for one more day. Legoland has such short hours, we would still have time to do some things at Disney that night and morning. I was just wondering if anyone has done this and how crazy the price was for the extra night. When I looked for one night on the Disney website the prices were outrageous. Of course I understand it is going into Presidents weekend so they may not have a room available. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

If there is a room available you will be able to extend, but be prepared to pay rack rate for the night. You canlook into trying to add a night now - possibly at your current resort or a different one.

If you are checking out on Friday you remain a DW guest for the remainder of that day, so after Legoland, you could still enjoy EMH that night. Afterwards you could drive to your airport hotel.

That's a good point about still being a guest for the rest of the day. We will book something closer to the airport since I can only imagine what rack rate would be! Thanks for the information.

We've actually done this and it worked really well. We added 3 nights when we were there last. I remember the front desk had me call a different number than the normal reservation line. The CM I worked with couldn't keep me at the same resort but gave us a really good discount on another resort. Once you're there they want to keep you I'd be prepared to pay rack but you never know....
