Adding a celebration to reservations

Is there a place on MDE to add a celebration or do I need to call? We're going for my brother's 50th birthday in April.

What kind of celebration are you looking to add? Just making a note of it? If you are looking for the in-room celebration, those aren't being offered right now.

I would try calling the dining number maybe, not sure. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Just a reminder they usually don’t do anything special for celebrations.

He can get a button, that says 50th birthday, at guest relations! I think that's about all they do these days!

You can usually add it yourself when making a reservation online, but I think if you want to add it after you need to call. As others have said, don't expect anything, but the notation may get him some birthday greetings. An "I'm Celebrating" button is likely to get more, though they are fairly common throughout the parks.

Any updated news on this? I used to be able to add celebrations when I made dining reservations, but I do not see how to do that on my September trip.

Disney has all but cut out "celebrations", mainly because half the people in the parks are celebrating SOMETHING. It got to be overwhelming.

Best you can do now is mention it at the front desk of your resort when checking in to get a button to wear, mention it when checking in for ADR's, and maybe mention it to your server. A plain cupcake is about the most they can expect nowadays...and sometimes not even that.

If you really want it to be recognized, you'll have to make it happen on your own. Most all TS restaurants sell celebration cakes at the podium when you check in for about $35 (price may have gone up recently). Disney is pretty much out of the business of "free" celebrations.
