Added on and got a Surprise

Yeah I did not take the MB discount since I wanted my points. I bought them, I want to use them.

But since I purchased one month before my June 2003 use year begins, I was also given 100 points for, lets call it a, 'June 2002 use year'. So I was able to assist another member in making a reservation for May so we're all happy.

Spirit air out of AC? Yes I checked. I'm almost 2 hours from AC which makes it tough. I might consider it in the future depending on the price. Is Newark that bad to leave your car? I don't have much experience in that..... might consider leaving it there in July.

Thanks.

We are an hour from Newark, and an hour from ACY, and the drive is so much more pleasant to go south. Parking is very expensive at Newark, and I have heard that the area is undesireable safety wise, but if you are that much closer to Newark, and can get a limo/Car to and from (which may be cheaper than parking) than you are better off there.

If you ever decided to take the 2hr ride south, ACY is a nice way to go. Sometimes the rates are worth it, sometimes Newark has the better fares.

Thursday I found rates on cheaptickets for 190 round trip, but that changes day to day.

Are the tickets for Spirit out of Atlantic City? I fly Spirit out of ACY all the time and love it, but I never knew you could get their tickets cheaper on line!

I just checked for you a flight out of Laguardia (American Airlines) and saw a flight for $155 round trip from 5/27-5/31. I had to book Laguardia to get a good fare from AA also for our December trip. Check your dates and try it. Good Luck!

Yes the tickets were for spirit out of acy.

I buy them online all the time, They have syber specials and some reduced fares right now

www.spiritair.com

if you buy thru them direct and the price goes lower they will give you a credit voucher for your next flight within a year. That works well for me, I check the fares all the time and today I called for credit because my flight lowered and it was issued.

you can also find them at
www.cheaptickets.com and
www.travelocity.com

but when you buy thru a third party you cannot claim a refund credit.

If I had a $220.00 airfare, a valid AP and points for OKW I would be there in a heartbeat!!! I love OKW!!!

Regarding the exceptions... we were going to stay a week at BWV this last March, taking my DW parents with us. Unfortunately my father-in-law passed away the week of spring break so we had to cancel. I called MS and explained the situation, hoping for an exception. Our points still went into the 60 day holding account. We are now going to use them in June but BWV, BCV, VWL are all full... so we're trying our first trip to OKW. I suppose its a good thing because we decided to add on an additional 200 points @ OKW :) .

Felicia,
Thanks for the information. I do buy my tickets on line through Spirits web site and get the cyper specials, I just did not know you could buy them through a third party on line. I just checked my flight with Spirit for May 16 through cheaptickets and it was more than what Spirit has on their website. Do you ever get the fares cheaper through a thrid party than what Spirit is advertising on their web site? Thanks!

The fairs are cheaper now for my aug trip than what I paid on cheaptickets, but I will just wait for the webfare on spirit to lower, and they will issue a credit.

My 235 flight is now 190 on cheaptickets.

I still think you are always better off buying direct from the source, unless its a $50 or better savings that you know wont be beat.

Have a great may trip!!!!:bounce:

We live in East Brunswick, NJ about 40 minutes from Newark Airport. We have always used a car service ($70) each way. We have started leaving a car at the airport lately in the daily lots. They have lowered the rate per day to $10(half price) and we find it safe and convient. When you park in the daily lots you have access to the airtrain that circles the airport. We park and are checking in to Continental in 6 minutes. Don't park in the economy lots. The buses take forever and I don't like standing out in the weather anyway. As someone said I also take into account the safety aspect. The airtran is new and clean and well manned.

What is the name of that lot? (for future ref)

Will that be a long term rate? or is it just a war time poor ecomomy promo??

I can usually get better rates at EWR, and would love to have options.

Although we love the more peaceful trip south.

The lots are P1 and P2 I believe.
Don't know how long those $10 rates will apply. When we went down in Feb they were 12 a day, in March they were $20 a day. This time we took a limo and were surprised to see that they lowered the price to $10. We would have saved $$ by not taking the limo if I had just checked the rates.

You will love OKW. All our points were at BWV. We thought we wanted to be close to the action also. BUT, we had one trip where we reserved late and it was OKW or nothing. Nothing was not an option. Anyway, after that trip, we ended up trolling the resale sites trying to find a OKW resale. It's just a wonderful resort!

The bus service is great - it's your bus and doesn't stop at any other resorts, the rooms are very large and you are a lovely boat ride away from Downtown Disney.

We first bought in to OKW in 1997. We loved the look and feel of the resort. The dedicated buses make the rides to and from the parks really nice. You can strike up some good conversations with people and with the drivers. OKW is very relaxing and laid back. After the hectic pace in the parks, it's nice to come back to the resort and relax. We love the large balconies with table and chairs. It's great for early morning coffee. We really liked the room we got that looked out over the waterway.
:) :D

OKW is wonderful and relaxing. While we have stayed at VWL and BCV and loved them, we always look forward to coming home to OKW. Parking right in front of our room is a big plus.

Have a great stay.

aricau, we're from Chalmette, LA and like you love OKW especially after a long day in the parks were we can just sit back on the balcony and enjoy the sights and sounds.

Yes, I knew there had to be other folks in Louisiana that belonged to DVC.

Chalmette folks, I'm so glad to hear that you bought into OKW. It's nice to hear that there are folks in Louisiana enjoying DVC just like us.
