Added on 25 points at BCV. I followed up with the agent each week for 10 weeks, trying to get points right before my UY - nothing ever came in. I then followed up the next week, the first week into our UY, and they had points (but alas now I couldn't get last year's points).

My guess is they wait to ROFR contracts if the UY is coming up - and then buy them once the UY has turned. My agent seemed to think this was a little fishy too.

Yeah, even if that was on the up and up, and we simply don't know, the optics of it look very bad. It may not even be connected to ROFR. Just because they have points in inventory doesn't mean they need to make them available to you. They could have ROFRd a stripped contract or they could have used the points from the current UY themselves before making the contract available to you. But the bottom line is that you still bought, right? So they got away with it. Which seems to be the trend for Disney as a company...they'll do and charge whatever they think they can get away with. It's not surprising, but still a bit sad. Now they're just like every other company, and they didn't start off that way.

We used to go to Disney and get a "feel good" feeling every time. Now it requires a hefty dose of suspension of disbelief.

FYI

It's more likely what they had to sell didn't have the previous UY points so they held it back rather than selling you points without the "current UY" points available.
