Added a Day. A Few Questions.

Our airline decided to reschedule our ride home to much earlier in the day (that we leave) and we didn't want to lose that day. So we added a day on to our trip.
We are staying 8 nights now, instead of 7.

1. We were able to book preferred room king, which is the same as our other nights. At the same resort too. Are the chances good they will not move our room that final night?

2. We were able to get free dining for the first 7 nights. Obviously, all of the free dining is booked up by now. But is there a way to add another night of dining on to the trip? It makes the price sky-rocket if I add a night of dining to the single day reservation because you must buy the whole package (room, tickets, dining). It is much cheaper for me to add a 9th day of park tickets to the first reservation. Can I also add a 9th day of dining?

3. Has anyone else added a day on to the beginning or end of their trip before? Does it ever cause any sort of problems?

Thanks!

1. Pretty good. Make sure the 2 reservations are linked together as a continuing stay. This has to be done by calling the Main Reservations line and have the phone CM do it.

2. No, you can't get a 9th day of dining unless you change your 1 night room only to a "ticketless package". This too has to be done by calling.

3. We have done this many times and had zero problems.

Just wanted to add that when you check in for the first reservation, tell the CM you have a continuing reservation and would like to keep the same room if possible. It's not guaranteed you won't have to move, but (as stated above), your chances are pretty good to keep the same room as they will do everything they can to accommodate you.

This is what I was going to suggest. Call and change your RO to a ticketless package (room + DDP). Your RO will have to be cancelled/refunded and a package booked (requiring a new $200 deposit), but you will be able to get the DDP for that last night without having to get additional park tickets.

The chances are pretty good, but you could have just went in and edited your reservation on MDE and added the day. See if you can still do that, then cancel the other booking :)

Actually, maybe not with Free Dining after the promo shut down. Editing at that point removes the promo and charges full price for the dining for the whole stay.

Oh, okay. I wouldn't know about that. We sadly never get free dining :( (well... Actually not sadly, since we're AP's And it just doesn't work out)

Thanks all for the help. I'll try to add the dining with the ticketless package. Yeah, with the free dining, I could not add a day.

Remember that you'll have until midnight of the day you "check out" of your first package to use all your dining credits. You very well may be able to stretch your credits through most of that day. Then you would only have the day of your departure without dining credits and you can pick up some CS. I wouldn't get another dining plan for just one day. After 7 days of eating a lot, you might sick of it and ready to have some smaller meals. I think the price for the DDP is pretty high and I could definitely plan meals to pay for OOP that cost less than buying the DDP.
