Add ons to Fixed Week Purchase

I am seriously considering a fixed week purchase at Poly. I think I have a good grasp of the premium you pay, but also the flexibility allowed by the fixed week purchase. Being that the week I am considering is a prime DVC time I feel confident about the decision, also if my travel patterns do change I don't see much of a downside. However, does anyone have any input in how an add on would be treated if purchased later on?Assuming you have the same UY would the contracts still be able to be easily managed? I know fixed weeks are a relatively new thing for DVC so I'm unsure if anyone has an experience with this.

I would imagine a points add-on would just be a separate contract in sequence (######.1) and treated the same as though you had 2 regular point contracts. If you happen to forego your fixed week, then you'd have the total points of both to pool and use.

Yes they would be under the same membership number but obviously one will be fixed and one points only. When you convert a fixed week to points, you now have an all points year.

I think the fixed week option is a great feature for many vacationers and I wish I bought one at VGF as they are sold out now.

Fixed weeks takes all the stress out of trying to book a difficult week at 11 months and walking is 100% unnecessary.

Thank you both! I love the fixed week option for a hard to book DVC week, and if I'm wrong and Poly is easily booked at 11 months out I can still convert my points. I know it won't be worth it until the resort is totally sold out. It seems the guide I spoke to was not very well versed in the fixed week option, and had to look up most of the answers, it seems it's not very popular right now, but to me I'm just happy the secret isn't totally out yet.

I have a fixed week Poly. I've already opted out of 2015 and 2016.

It will be an option that might come into play when it sells out. If it doesn't, no loss.

If a fixed week is needed to lock down a prime week, priceless. Until Poly sells out, we will opt out and use our points however we like. No. Big. Deal.

I'm very happy that I chose the fixed week uption.
