I am sure that DVC will be happy to add on as many points as you can afford, at $100+ per point, but subtracting and promotions that are available.

In general, unless they are running some fantastic promotion, it is fiscally more sound to buy on the resale market.

IMO, it depends.

if you're buying a larger, 100+ pt contract, it is true that resale is (almost always) cheaper.

but for smaller contracts, especially if you're looking at adding 25-50 pts, direct through disney is often cheaper due to the lack of closing costs.

but do the math to be certain...
