I am looking for some advice from all the DVC experts out there!

My husband and I recently purchased points through resale and are interested in adding on 50 points. Our use year is April. If I buy directly from Disney, it would be $91/point or $4550, correct? And I would get 50 points now and then another 50 in April (assuming they were able to sell me an April use year)? My question is, would you buy 50 Saratoga points now for $91/point or wait until AKV are selling and buy 50 there? We don't have an immediate need for the points, but could bank or rent them for now. And we don't have a strong tie to either SSR or AKV (I am sure we'd enjoy both equally). I am looking to spend the least amount for these 50 points. Do you think AKV will be cheaper than $91/point when they are sold?

For comparison, I also looked at resale and there is a 50 point SSR contract available through the TSS. It is $85/point or $4250. Once you add closing costs, it is a better deal to buy through Disney.

What would you do? TIA!

From all the info posted lately I believe AKV is available today at $101 pp. Call your guide just to be sure. If you buy at least 100 points they are offering AKV at $93 pp.

I personally would buy at AKV.

You can add on points at any DVC resort. Prices vary:

BCV, BWV, VWL: $95/pt
OKW: $92/pt
HHI, VB: $87/pt
SSR: $101/pt but with a $10/pt discount if you buy 50 points or more
AKV: $101/pt but with an $8/pt discount if you buy 100 points or more

If you add on at a different resort, you can use your HHI points to book a stay there 11 months from checkout, and you can use your XYZ resort points to book at XYZ resort 11 months from checkout. At 7 months from checkout, you can combine the HHI points and the XYZ points to book a stay at any DVC resort.
