Add-on overseas buyer

How is your currant UY and resort, do they do it for you? Have you stayed at all of the WDW resorts that interest you? Should you change your master resort and/or UY?

IMO people should buy where they love to stay, maybe a MK resort and a Epcot/DHS resort. Buy half the required points for a typical stay and bank them for a stay there every other year or vacation. You can also do split stays if you have to park hop but why bother. One time do MK and AKV, next time do Epcot and DHS.

Haven't stayed there yet, but visited the resort and really liked it.

My current resort is BLT and ssr. They both have an April UY and the UY works fine for us. Have we had another UY of march or June would work just as well. We mainly travel June, July, September and maybe October.

We have only done split stays and like it. The idea of staying at the same resort for 7 days or more is not appealing to us. We like the diversity of staying at different resorts.

You are from Europe and you only vacation for 7 days? Do you love BLT? You need to stay at CCV, VGF, BCV, and BWV. We own BLT but it isn't our favorite, no longer stay there, We own and stay at VGF and BRV for MK/AK access and BWV for Epcot/DHS. After staying at the resorts you many want to adjust your holdings. If you end up liking CCV/BRV more than BLT, you could buy CCV for direct perks and sell BLT and SSR. Buy BRV and BWV or BCV resale, or keep BLT if you love it, add CCV direct and buy BWV or BCV resale.

There are many possibilities, you need to find out what you love and go from there, keep your April UY. If it doesn't happen this year, next year isn't far away.

Yes I only vacation 7 days this time of year. I usually vacation 9 weeks or more per year, 3 weeks in the summer and the rest divided among the rest of the year.

The airfare to MCO from Europe is approx 400$ r/t so 7 days works just fine.

To me love is something you have for another person and not for anything else :-) we do however like BLT a lot But we won’t stay there every time.

My idea was to buy the minimum 25 points or maybe 30 if that makes more sense and get the perks before they require 50 or maybe 100 direct to get ‘em.

With the perks we would like everyone else get the AP and go 2-3times per 12 months.

Our upcoming trip next week we will stay at PVB & VGF we are looking so much forward to it.

Question about multiple masters, would it be that bad if you are able to book what you want on each contract and don’t need to transfer points around?

Say I get a June UY also. I book 3 days at BWV with the June UY and 4 days at BLT with my April UY. I understand that if I’m a few points short on one contract I can’t use points from another UY to complete the reservation.

Multiple masters are like two different people each being owners. If the deeds are titled the exact same with names and same forms of ownership, can see them both in your DVC account. Otherwise you will have to log in separately. I did see a report where that may have changed. Multiple masters are more to keep track of, dates, dues billings, more mailings, second membership card.

In the end it's all about what you are comfortable with, how much you love WDW, oops, I mean like WDW :-), how you want to use your ownership.

For us Disney has been our only vacation spot for years and years, took us awhile to decide on which resorts are our favorites. We have now reduced our number of vacations there to once or twice per year and we have started cruising.

It works well for me. I have two smaller master contracts. I enjoy doing split stays because I feel it gives me two vacations in one. Usually booking three or four days at each of my home resorts.

I have not used a point transfer between contracts because if I need just a few points I borrow the points from the next UY. If within the seven month window I have called and purchase a few one time use points.

Glad to hear it works well. We also like split stays, agree almost like two vacations in one.

Do you experience any problems or difficulties administering two masters?

Glad you learned the difference between love/like :love2:

Even though we find Disney great and enjoy our vacation onsite it's not the only place we go and never will be.

That's also why we own different timeshare systems.

Always wanted to cruise but never took the leap. Maybe some day we will.

I think they can sell direct to UK as they are registered here for selling timeshares- but I haven't seen they are registered in any other Euro country.

They are registered in places where either they have sales offices or in places where there is enough interest from people who want to buy from home.

They absolute easiest way to use a second UY is to use it separately. So booking nights only with it isn't that bad. If you want to use it along with your other UY at a resort then you get into either booking full nights with each contract and having the reservations linked for a continuing stay or else you need to transfer to use partial points. You can just use banking or borrowing if you're a few points short in the current UY.

Having a single UY is the ideal but having a second that you use independently is not the worst thing and pretty easy to manage. Doing it that way the only real thing to remember is the different banking deadline.

For a new membership with an existing member some guides seem to ignore and get approved a sale that is less than the minimum for a brand new DVC buyer.

I have not had any issues. The new dashboard feature has made it even easier in my opinion.

I’m glad to hear that.

You are correct they are only allowed to sell in the uk.

I guess there is not much of an interest from my country :sad2:

It sounds doable but I’ll still aim for same UY because If I buy 25 points with another UY it could be difficult even with bank and borrowing. Unless they don’t reallocate the points and I always get standard view then I could book 5 nights every other year.

I hope you are right about the membership.

They ended up having 25 points available at BLT in my current UY so thats perfect.

Had the points in my account 15min after agreeing to buy.

Congratulations and enjoy using those extra points.

Crazy how fast those points can show up. Mine took a little longer but I did make my purchase at the end of the day. Called the day after my points appeared and they banked my 2016 points and adjusted my September trip to use the banked points. Expected that but did not expect them to make an adjust for a few borrowed points.
