Add-on newbie questions

I just add-on at VGC yesterday, so I am an add-on newbie

The points just shown up on my account and I am already confused!
I don't know how everyone do it managing mutiple contracts.

I have 160 points at AKL to begin with and now 50 more points at VGC, same August use year.

Before adding on I kept borrowing from year to year, like right now I only have 3 points left on 2010 UY at AKL. I booked 2 nights in May at Hollywood Hotel in HKDL as my dad's birthday present, and next trip for ourselve is in Oct 3 nights @ BWV. I had no plan for this summer since I only have 2 borrowed points left on my 2009 UY. I was going to just let them expire casue it is not enough for anything.

When I add-on yesterday the guide said I am getting the 2009 UY points with my new add-on contract. I had him bank those points right away for me as it already past the 4 months line i don't want to take any chances of losing them.

My plan is to visit DLR every 3 years or so and I am planning to be there August of 2011.

Question #1: I think I can't use the 50 banked points from 2009 for August 2011 trip, so I have to use them before July 31, 2010, correct?

Question #2: To have enough points for the 2011 DLR trip, which I'll need 116 points. I should bank my 2010 VGC points to 2011 and also borrow 16 points from 2012 UY right?

Question #3: To plan a trip for 2010 UY, I should transfer my 3 AKL points to my VGC contract and then book a trip in 7 month window right?

Question #4: Since the rule says we can only transfer points once a year, does it mean I can only use that chance to transfer points between my 2 contracts, meaning I can not transfer points in or out to another member's account anymore?? (like if I need more points I can't rent points from other people and combine their points with my own points on my 2 contracts?)

Question #5: is there a way to use the orphan 2 points from AKL 2009 UY now?? or maybe not....
I am confused.. my head hurt!

You are correct on many points... except that you don't need to transfer points from AKV to GCV because they are in the same UY and fall under the same membership #. The points simply can be combined when you make a reservation. This is why if you ever buy a resale add on, you want the same UY.
You will lose the 2009 points if not used by 7/31.

Remember that when combining your two contract's points you have to make the reservation at the 7 month or later. You can make a partial reservation using the home resort's points at the 11 month and later add to that reservation for more days at the 7 month.

If all else fails, call MS and they will gladly talk you through your contracts. What you can or can't do, and what you have left.

HELP!

Make sure you follow up with MS to ensure that the 2009 VGC points were banked. Most people have stated that they themselves did the calling. Would not want to see you end up losing them because you thought they had been banked.

Once you hit the 7 month mark, all your points will be good and function as one so there is no need to transfer. That only happens when you have different UY's, and thus, different memberships.

You will still be eligible for transfers in/out of the membership. But, it will only be one, not one for each contract.

You are correct that your 2009 points can be used for the August 2011 trip since it falls in your August 2011 UY. That trip can be "paid" for with banked 2010 points, 2011 points, and borrowed 2012 points.

It does get confusing at times but once you have them, it will work out.

Am I just too impatient and should I just wait for it to fix itself?

I would give it a few days and if it doesn't seem right, then give them another call. You are correct, those 2010 points should be bankable.

Just to clarify. Your banked Aug 2009 UY points will expire July 31st, 2011 (not 7/31/10).

Also, if the points you used for your Oct 2010 BWV stay were booked with 2010 AKV points MS should be able to do a reallocation using your banked 2009 points. You will then still have your 2010 AKV points that you can use or bank to use for Aug 2011.
