I am currently looking to add-on points(100) from Disney to my current account and was wondering if anyone has received additional incentives that were not published(i.e. tickets, passes, additional discounts, special bookings, etc)?

Currently I am aware of the $$off or the cruise offers that are running.

We just added on VGC points. There weren't any additional incentives besides $$ off and the cruise. We did start another master contract with a June Use year to get the 2009 points.

We just added on a couple of weeks ago while on a cruise. Got no closing costs and like prior poster, 2009 points as well.

We are considering BLT - when you say you paid no closing costs - is that the approx $300 and the "10% down-payment" or just the $3xx part? I just hate leaving the table feeling like there was something we should have negotiated....

Can you get a new use year for an additional contract? I thought with an add on they had to be the same UY?
We have a March UY and we are just about to sign, if we could get a new UY we would do that to have 2009 points.

We also have a March use year. When we called back to ask questions, we asked if we could have another master contract to get the 2009 points. Our guide was at the VGC event and walked over somewhere to ask and that person said yes. So we have 2 master contracts March and June. Our DDs are on the June contract. And still no closing costs along with the extra points.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm going to drop our guide an email to see if we can do this too, that would work great for us.

Thanks

Were you buying 160 pts or more? Usually to start a new master you must be buying the minimum that they sell to new owners.

We bought 2 75 point contracts, 150 points. Our guide had to ask several times to confirm the points, putting it into 2 contracts, no closing costs and even getting a new master at all. It's done and now just waiting for my youngest to come home to sign on the "Mickeys".

It was just the closing costs. We still had to put a percentage down. Very happy with the additional 50 points.

But what is the actual minimum requirement for a new master contract if you're adding on? Is it different than when 1st buying in?

I think it depends on the resort. Some resorts can be done with only 100 points, like SSR and AKV, but others I think need to be the full 160.

However, it sounds like one of the PP got a new UY with only 150 so I guess it is all up to whatever you can get them to do.

So I went and asked our guide if we could do this and the answer is YES, we have a March UY and have now added on at BLT with 100 points and a new master contract of June, he did try and talk us out of it but with 100 extra points to start the UY in June I think it's worth it...:rotfl:

Thanks! We've been thinking about adding on at VGC and I don't mind the same use year (Feb) but it would be a bonus to get 2009 points.

On a 50 pt we got $8 off and a set of immediate fas passes when we go down in Nov... its kind of like asking for good floor mats on the new car.:rotfl: I did this on my last add-on as well. Just a cute little perk.

One thing to consider with getting a new master contract, is that the points can never be combined for a single reservation, unless you make use of your annual one time points transfer. This can limit the flexibility of your reservation booking and make keeping track of points/reservations difficult.

It's a long time of inconvenience for an extra year's worth of points.

Just wanted to clarify that new buyers pay closing costs (the $3xx) when purchasing direct with Disney, where DVC members that add on points do not.

I also noticed WDWCrazyfromGA that you have a countdown clock for a cruise. Many times people get a better price per point on a cruise than other Disney offers.

How did you get that? I just did a 50 point add on to VGC and I would like some free FPs... either DLR or WDW, I don't care...:rotfl: Haven't sent in my paperwork yet!

Where are the prices and other info published? We would like to find the price of BWV add-on direct from Disney. Thanks for any info!
