Add-on\Incentives Question

I think it depends on the resort. Some resorts can be done with only 100 points, like SSR and AKV, but others I think need to be the full 160.

Has anyone been able to add 100 point to Grand California? with a new UY?

we would like to add 100 points to our DVC, and were considering Grand California....

I just read that someone got an add on of 100 BLT points with a new UY. If they are allowing it for that resort at this time, I think you would have a good chance of asking for it for VGC.

The best thing to do is contact your guide and tell him/her what you want and that you know he/she might have to talk to a manager in order to get it approved.

Where are the prices and other info published? We would like to find the price of BWV add-on direct from Disney. Thanks for any info!

BWV is now $115/pt direct from Disney. Here's a link to a site that is usually up to date on the pricing although they don't have OKW listed correctly as it is currently $90/pt.

Thanks for the link, Kathy. I spotted a few more omissions or inconsistencies on the page too. We just bought BLT last week, and we received an $8/point developer credit, though that link quotes a $6/point developer credit. Also, Disney provided a $100 gift card to us because we were currently staying at a Moderate-priced resort when we took the tour. So, we got the fast pass vouchers, the $8/point credit, and the $100 gift card (which we used for dinner that night) as incentives.

They are fast pass vouchers, not actual fast passes. After your tour, your Guide will give you a set of four cards that you can insert into any fast pass terminal that is currently dispensing. Each card will give you three fast passes for that ride when inserted, for the current callback time. You can't use them for rides that have already expended all of their fast passes for the day. Also, the vouchers are only good for four days after your tour. We took our tour on the last day of our trip, and by the time we got back to Epcot, all of the fast passes had been given out for the day... so our vouchers were worthless to us. But, if we had taken the tour early in our trip, it would have been great!

One thing to consider with getting a new master contract, is that the points can never be combined for a single reservation, unless you make use of your annual one time points transfer. This can limit the flexibility of your reservation booking and make keeping track of points/reservations difficult.

It's a long time of inconvenience for an extra year's worth of points.

I know, but we tend to take shorter trips since we dislike traveling during the summer heat and our DS has started school...I don't mind taking him out for a day or two but not for a full week or more at a time. So having a second contract with a smaller number of points shouldn't be too much of an issue for us. If I ever decide to take a large point trip, I will probably bank points from the year before and go that route. I would just like the 11 month advantage for VGC since I think it will become hard to get in there without it with its limited number of rooms.
