Add-on green light from DH!!!

OMG - do my (mouse) ears deceive me? DH just green lit an add-on!!!

I've been spending lots of time on the "Purchase" board lately, learning the ropes of resale. Can't wait to join the ranks of those of you who get to post that you passed ROFR!

Nice! What are you thinking as far as resort? Will you have to wait to find the perfect user year or are you more flexible? Once you get the green light to add on its hard not to feel a sense of urgency, but don't be afraid to wait for exactly what you are looking for. Worst thing you can do right now is plan a trip that you will need your new points for because that will only add to the urgency that is not really there. Just pretend your new points don't even exist until you actually get them. Happy hunting!

The problem is that THE perfect contract for us (perfect UY, desired resort, reasonable cost) has just been sitting there for some time already. Have to fight to keep a clear head!

But you have a green light now. Go snatch it! Or at least make an offer, even if it's low and gets declined.

I got the add on green light from DH too!

How did you decide on buying resale? Did you consider buying direct? That's what we are contemplating now. Also, if you don't mind me asking how did you decide on what resort to add on at? We are between GFV & AKV

After long consideration, we decided to go resale, because it is much less expensive. We have realized over the years that we really will (mostly) use our points at WDW, so we can work within the limitations of the resale world.

We also decided to stick with our same UY and resort - AKV - for the sheer simplicity of it all. We have no real emotional attachment to any of the resorts, and can only hope we don't regret passing up that 11 month booking window somewhere other than AKV.

I think I read your post on another thread. And you got married at GF? Or renewed vows there? I can see why this would be a special place to own, and I'm guessing it's going to be very difficult to get at the 7 month mark. I don't envy your position! But hey - it's a good problem to have, right?

If you own at ak now, I would buy enough GF for 2-3 nights every other yr, and then buy the remaining add on to your current AK. It is about double the price between AK resale and GF direct right now.


If you got married there I think gabbing a few nights there to spoil you once in a while would tickle your fancy, and if AK is a close enough second could save you thousands.

If your current contract is not AK and you are not adding on enough to buy 2 different resorts, I'd go GF I think you'll kick yourself when disappointment hits late. ( you could wait 1 yr and get GF in the neighborhood of 100-125 likely resale, but finding a matching it will be hit and miss.
