Add on and use year questions

Just wondering if add ons always have the same use year as your original contract. Even at a different resort?

With the new info on the price per point going up we may try to do an add on at VWL before the increase. Just enough to stay there for a few nights before or after a BWV stay every couple of years. We like variety! :D

Also, the guidebook seems to say that add ons at a resort other than your home resort must be at least 50 points, but I recall seeing that some here have been allowed to add only 25 at a resort that isn't their first DVC home....is this correct that the policy has changed?

Thanks!

When adding on through Disney you always get the same use year. I believe the minimum at a dif. resort is still 50pts.

Just bought add-on at a different resort from my home resort. Only had to have 25. I bought 35.

I don't think you have to have the same use year, but you should, and your guide will suggest that or make it happen. My guide said when availability got tight, "I'll see if that use year is available."

I believe that the minimum add-on is 25 points if paying by cash or credit card, and 50 points if financing. 4
