Adam Hattan's feedback on the crowds in the parks during January of this year

Just got finished watching one of my favorite You Tubers, Adam Hattan and he gave a very current and real opinion on the state of the crowds at Disney during the month of January. I have never heard him speak of just how crowded it was and that it was just not much fun during his trip as a results of the crowds.

I think he was there after MLK day and after the marathons, whenever it was, it was a time where the crowds have always been very manageable in the past. He was very surprised with the wait times he was experiencing and really surprised how he was having such a hard time getting fast passes for just himself.
He even talked about looking to do DCL and/or other destinations in the future because he can't imagine how bad it will be once Star Wars opens.

This is why Josh from EasyWDW stopped doing the crowd calendars. It is always busy. And when WDW projects slightly lower crowds, they staff fewer CMs, and keep only one side of attractions operating, which results in higher waits.

I just hope that WDW staffs appropriately for SWGE. It's going to be packed, so at least have everything operating at capacity.

Correct, that is exactly what I thinking when Adam was talking. They are able to get so much info from the bands now they can project how they can staff less, save themselves money and have us pay the price.

I don't read or follow any blogger. I think I can decide what's going on at WDW on my own.

Do you have a link to the video?

Oh my gosh....please check the spelling of one of your words. :rolleyes1 :upsidedow

Many of us who were there in Jan last year reported back on how crowded it was. We were pretty much rebuked with “it was an anomaly because Disney messed with staffing”. Maybe people will believe it now that bloggers are saying it. :rolleyes2
Oh, I believed it all along well before Adam was saying anything. This was just the first time I have ever seen him mention such. And I really liked his approach. He doesn't candy coat anything. If he likes something, has a positive review, he will rate it such, and vise versa. I think it can very well be a combination of both, more people coming and Disney staffing less.

Yep, he was probably there around the time of Pro Bowl which used to not be busy but as we found out in 2017, it was miserable.

No one here believed it. :rolleyes1

I really have a lot of respect for Josh not doing the crowd calendars anymore. He feels like he can no longer give an accurate prediction, so he gives no prediction on the crowds.

Disney was forced to give their employees a substantial raise. So we the consumers are paying for it 1) higher ticker prices and 2) lower staffing.
We typically go the first week in Feb, we went the last week in Feb this year and we were completely blown away by how many people there were in the parks.
People are coming so Disney isn't going to change anything to make the experience any easier/better. I've said for a while now that Disney is focused on their once in a life time trips and not their repeat customers. Repeat customers know how it once was and they want to have that same level of service. New customers don't know what they are missing, they just follow the crowd for the most part. They don't know that they are paying for EMM and DAH when we used to basicly get them for free.

I think we need to start making a distinction between "long wait times" and "high crowds." They used to be synonymous, but not anymore.
