Ok that pink bouquet is awesome. I love it!!!!

Sorry about the familt issues Katie. Annoying.

I can't wait to confirm my date with disney.... i was looking at invitations online and i can't wait to order them. I almost ordered some but i'm so worried about getting my date and time that i figured i'd jinx myself if i did order them. I think i'm going to make a ticker for the 8 month mark when i can offically book! :rotfl2:

I know! I really want to order invitations too! I contacted Shelley from impressions and she's going to send me samples, so maybe that will tide me over a little!

I really want to order my Save the Dates too, but since my 12 month mark is only in a few weeks I guess I should wait...:confused3

Love the new cake, it's very elegant!

I'm glad you like the new cake. DF loves it so i love it too!! :lovestruc

I'm dying to order invitations!!! We need to start a support group :rotfl2:

I have some questions about destination etiquette.

DF and I are trying to decide on whether or not to have a party at out house for our home reception. I could go either way but i'm leaning more towards not wanting to do it. DF definatly wants to do it. My reasons for not wanting to do it is because i'd rather not have people think that they weren't good enough to be invited to disney but they are good enough to come to a party and bring a gift. Its not about the gifts for us. The reason we'd want to have the party was to show off the pictures of the wedding and to just celebrate with us. So DF said to put on the invitations that no gifts are expected but is that tacky? :confused3 What are your thoughts on this?

I also wanted to know if we can have a bridal shower since we're having a small destination wedding. Does the same rule apply that no gifts should be expected for the bridal shower if they aren't going to the ceremony? :confused3 Would people not show up because they'd feel the same way as they would about a recpetion?

I just really dont want to offend anyone when it comes to parties for the wedding. But i also would like to do the normal wedding stuff to some extent. :guilty:

Anyone else dealing with this?

Hey Katie. Just have the party. I don't think you have to put on there "no gifts". If people want to they will bring a gift. I think the idea of having it at your house is a great idea. I wish we would have just done that rather than renting the hall, DJ, and all that stuff.

My MOH threw me a shower for the wedding. She invited those who were invited to the wedding, and those who were invited to the reception.

Katie I don't think the shower works any different. If someone is throwing you one that is definitely ok.

I hear you on the party thing though, although I think we are in the minority. My family was definitley ok with attending the party back at home but I was worried too. What if they think I just want gifts? I think ettiquette says that it's ok but I understand where you are coming from!

I just dont want to send out invitations that say "we are registered at ___________" and then have it say at the bottom "Gifts are not required"

Adam and some of the family members think we should register so that people will know what to get us at the bridal shower, but i just dont know. I mean dont get me wrong we could definatly use some stuff for the house but i just dont want people to think we're being unfair or greedy

DF brought up the point that since its going to be a very casual party at the house, with some hors d'evours (spelling???) drinks and nothing really reception-ish about it that people will understand that if they want to bring a gift they will and if they dont they wont. I kind of agree with him there. I think we will just send out nice invitations that show it'll be casual and leave it at that.

Did you register anywhere lynn?
Were people OK with the fact that you had the small wedding in disney and the party back at home?
Oh and how long did it take Randy to get your pics to you? We are doing the CD only package and i want to make sure we'll have it for people to see at the party. :lovestruc

DF is worried about doing a home reception b/c he also says it looks like he's asking for gifts....
I think Vanessa posted once (I think it was her) that you could put "your presence is present enough" which I always thought was really cute!

Yea thats cute too. I'm sure we'll be able to figure something out.

We are probably going to wait and have the home party once we get our photos back from randy. I think it'd be too close from coming home from the honeymoon. DF also had the bright idea of scattering the wedding pictures throughout the house so, we can put them on the tables as centerpieces, make some collages and put them in frames and stuff. We have a split level house so we'll probably end up with people upstairs and down stairs. We have a big TV in the downstair living room so we could maybe make a slide show and play that on the TV or something.

I dont know its so far away but i feel like such a bad bride. I mean we can't book with disney until 2/2010 so i dont know the definate date so i really can't do much. Its just not the norm i geuss... my other bride friends had stuff ready to go a year and a half to two years in advanced. I guess thats just what i'm used to seeing.

Good morning ladies....

I am extremely tired today bceause i worked the night shift last night and i am back to my 6:30am-2:30pm work schedule today. I feel like i haven't left this place! So in an effort to do nothing all day i started looking into wedding invitation wording and see if there is something i liked. DF's best friend (the one whose wedding we went to a few weekends ago) used the wedding verse that i wanted to use and it was everywhere at their wedding so the "sometimes in the middle of ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale" thing is out. I dont want his new wife to think i copied her :rolleyes1

I did find some other cute fairy tale-esque wedding wording that i actually think is alittle let cliche. (no offense to anyone using the other verse... its lovely and i'm just annoyed that they used it first! :rotfl2:)

These are just some sample ones that i found online. Which one do you girls like the best? I also want to use the saying for both the ceremony inviation AND the home reception party. How could i change up the wording so that I can use it for the home reception?

TIA!
