Adam and Katies 10/2/2010 SBP/Attic/?? ~ brainstorming!

Thanks Anj!!

That one is one of my favorites too.... its not too cheesy! How do you think i should word the at home reception invites using the same idea? Maybe say..

In the spirirt of the magic
that brought us together

We were married
and are starting
our happily ever after...

then do the "please join us for a party...blah blah blah" stuff??

Oh I like that!!

really? You think its alright?

I'm going to show DF and see what he thinks. I asked him if we can sit down and have another wedding meeting lol. i want to order some invitation samples and i also want to figure out what we want to do about the home reception too.

A friend of mine pretty much eloped to Niagara Falls. They had a "reception" when they got home...it was done on the computer and printed on resume paper. It said:

Hi! Come to our wedding....oh...Um...Sorry we did that already! Instead come to our party!
Date
Time
Place
Please no gifts.

It was a stitch! But then again, the whole thing was a bit funny. (long story...not PJ material)

I thought I would join in. (I love not working at work :goodvibes)

Congrats on your engagement, your story is cute! I love your flower choices. And your dress is gorgeous. I'm sorry about the family issues, it sounds like DF's family when we wanted to do a DCL wedding and now we're getting married in Puerto Rico, so go figure. It will all work out and everything will be just fine.

I like option 3 for the wording as well :thumbsup2

Thats so cool that youre getting married in PR! I'm leaning towards number 3!!

So alittle off topic from the wedding invitations but i found these on ebay and i really like them. I think that it'd look nice with the half up half down hair do. Ya know put it in the back.

I think i like the last one the most. what do you think?

The last one is my favorite too, I think it will look perfect for 1/2 up half down style. I'm looking into something similar or maybe a headband because I don't want a tiara.

I like the wording of option 3 too. I haven't figured out what we're going to do. It stinks that other girl stole your quote, I mean hello, it's not a fairy tale if it's not at Disney! ;)

I think the wording easily works for the at home reception! Just retool it like you did, and voila! Insta-invite! Lol :rotfl:

And oooh! Pretty hair combs! I like the last one the best too!

OMG I started cracking up when i read what you wrote about the quote!! I've been wanting to say that since i first saw it all over everything at their wedding! I was like "Ok NOTHING about this wedding is fairy tale thank you very much!" :lmao: So thanks for saying waht i've been thinking for 3 weeks now!

Anywho i'm glad you like the hair comb. Its going for a really really low price on ebay and there are only 3 days left so i'm watching it like a hawk! :surfweb:

I love that "voila! insta-invite!" Yea i showed DF the wording and he didn't seem too thirlled about it. But i also learned that he is a plain boring kind of guy. We were searching through wedding paper divas dot com and I asked him to pick out a few with me so we could order some samples. Now, obviously I had been on the sight a ton of times before and had an idea of which ones i liked. Well all the ones he liked were VERY plain. Just wording and a straight border.... :confused3 I mentioned a few that i liked and he said they looked too busy. We compromised and got a sample of one that he liked, one that i liked, and one that we both agreed on. But as far as the wording goes i think i want to use option number 3 and hope it grows on him :rolleyes1

I can't wait to get my samples though! they said they should be coming in around 8/10. :woohoo: I liked that website because you can order invitations with just a minimum of 10.... not 50 like most websites. :thumbsup2

I can't believe that girl stole your wording:mad: Are they even coming to your wedding??? Maybe they'll never know you used it:confused: I like wording #3 the best as well and also the last hair comb- so pretty! Can't wait to see the invitation samples you ordered! P.S. Can I join your support group for those having anxiety about the 8 month booking date- ugh:headache:

Of course you can join my support group! :scared: This will be our logo and i'll make us all t shirts and key chains! :rotfl2:

I think that they will be coming to the wedding. DF wants him to be his best man, he's just waiting for them to come off of their wedding high before officially asking. Whether or not his lovely new wife will be attending i don't know but i'm going to assume she'll be there.

I'm glad i'm getting good feedback on that hair comb! I keep imagining ehat it will look like with the half up and half down look! It'll be awesome if i can have that pin-up hair with the hair comb... i think it'll complete the look that i'm going for! :lovestruc

As far as the wording goes i think i'm just going to use number 3.... df will never know!... shhhhh  And you should definatly check out that website... i mean as a fellow escaper i dont think you're going to need a minimum of 50 invitations and they're pretty reasonably priced too. :thumbsup2

LOVE comb #3!!!!

And are you going to post the invites you picked to sample??? We want to see!

Thanks Mandy!

I'm at work so i can't post pictures but i'll post the links and hopefully it'll work.... if it doesn't i'll post them later

this one if adam's plain invitation

http://www.weddingpaperdivas.com/product/3216/thermography_wedding_invitations_pure_style.html

We'd have it in navy if it doesn't show up that way

http://www.weddingpaperdivas.com/products/ProductView_1980.htm

We both kind of liked this one in the Navy I liked it because it had alittle more something to it

http://www.weddingpaperdivas.com/products/ProductView_1298.htm

And this one is the compromise one. We both liked it.

I would've gone alittle more stylish but simple is good too

Oh and just for the record... i did want donald and daisy in bathing suits on my invitations but DF vetoed that stating that not everyone attending ::cough:: DF's Family ::cough:: is into disney and wouldn't like it...

anywayyyyyy.....

Thanks Lynn! :goodvibes

DF brought up the point that since its going to be a very casual party at the house, with some hors d'evours (spelling???) drinks and nothing really reception-ish about it that people will understand that if they want to bring a gift they will and if they dont they wont. I kind of agree with him there. I think we will just send out nice invitations that show it'll be casual and leave it at that.

Did you register anywhere lynn?
Were people OK with the fact that you had the small wedding in disney and the party back at home?
Oh and how long did it take Randy to get your pics to you? We are doing the CD only package and i want to make sure we'll have it for people to see at the party. :lovestruc

Yeah they were fine! I registered at Traget, and bed bath and beyond. I think lol. I don't really remember. I got my pics in a month. Randy had pictures for me to view the next day though. He called me when we were about to have dinner at the Coral Reef to tell me he emailed me some sneak peeks LMAO!!! He's good like that!

Thanks Anj!!

I think this is adorable!!! Love it!!!

Oh and the combs are gorgeous. You can't go wrong with any of them!

Thanks for all your help Lynn! :goodvibes

By the way thanks for doing all those disney quizzes on facebook... it gave me something to do this morning instead of work!

LOL!!! :lmao:

I didn't care for the 1st one, LOVED the second one, and liked the 3rd one. I feel like Goldilocks!:rotfl:

I like invitation 3 the best. It's a good compromise and I like that it's in your color. :thumbsup2

I already told DF that I don't like very plain invitations and he luckily agreed that he likes a little pizazz to them. I know he's going to fight me on the wording though, he's going to think it's girly and cheesy :confused3, but hello, it's a wedding! It's supposed to be a little girly and cheesy!:rotfl2:

I think it's a good idea to go with wording 3, I wouldn't want to use that other girl's wording even if she weren't going to the wedding, I'd want mine to be different but I'm stubborn like that.

I'm glad to have said what you were thinking! Seriously though, how is that a fairy tale at all? I like that quote a lot, but unless you are marrying a real live prince or some type of royalty, having your wedding in a castle, or getting married at Disney, it doesn't really apply. ;)
