I officially declare myself the baddest "badwife" ever. Or should I declare my husband the WORST ever? You decide:
1. We agree that we are NOT exchanging Christmas presents. We are building a house, and all extra money should go towards that. We are taking a weekend trip soon, and agree that that trip is our present to each other. So, I get home from work on Christmas morning, smooch him, and climb into bed. Well, when I get up that afternoon, he has me about $500 worth of presents, while I stand there holding a box of Nestle Treasures and a card for him. Badwife #1.
2. We agree that we are NOT exhanging Valentines's presents, We close on the house next month and are having to PAY taxes, so all extra money should go towards that. We do, however, have a big night planned for Saturday night. I have a new dress, new shoes, and new lingerie planned. Thursday night, my mom is put in the hospital, so I go home and stay up most of two days with her. I drive back to Memphis late Saturday afternoon, and plan on taking a little catnap, then getting up to go get Clint at least a card before we go out. I wake up still in my blue jeans on Sunday morning at 4am. He ended up renting a movie and ordering pizza by himself Saturday night while I slept. I of course, didn't make it out to get him a card, but I had chocolates, roses, and a movie I wanted on the kitchen table. He said he knew I was tired, and needed to sleep since I had to work on Sunday, so he cut my alarm off and let me rest.
So am I really that bad of a wife? Or can he shoulder some of the blame? I am feeling particularly down about this right now.
