(Most of you of course can’t make it but had to post about a guy from one of my favorite childhood tv shows. Was glad to read Corporal Randolph Agarn is still alive and kicking and not in the “Happy Hunting Ground”. Good for him)

Actor, 98, picks N.J. for his final gig. You may remember him from F Troop.

A 98-year-old actor best remembered for starring on F Troop in the 1960s is making his final public appearance Sunday, and he’s coming to New Jersey to do it.

Larry Storch will be honored at Wild West City in Byram in a ceremony starting at noon July 11. He has been an unofficial ambassador in recent years for the western-themed park, whose saloon is named after him.

Thanks for sharing, Charlie. Great to see you, as always.

I never watched that show, a bit too old probably, 21, the year it came out. Maybe I was just 'too cool' to watch it, haha. :smooth:

Hope you and all your family are doing well.

F Troop was a cute show, very 1960s in its slapstick humor. There are episodes on YouTube, along with the memorable theme song:

It lasted for two years, 1965-1967. It starred Ken Berry as the amiable, clueless commander of Fort Courage, a Western fort populated with misfits and more or less run by a couple of hustlers (Forrest Tucker and Storch) who are in a moneymaking partnership with the local Native American tribe, the Hekawi.

I think Storch is the last surviving cast member.

F Troop was a funny show. I really liked Larry Storch as Corporal Agarn. 98 years young is very impressive.

That’s neat. I used to watch F Troop. Never made it to Wild West City yet, but remember all the ads for it on the Uncle Floyd Show!
My husband and daughter just ran into uncle Floyd at a fair they were performing at, got a picture with him. My husband’s band in HS performed on the show once.

Great opening video. I also went to WWC https://wildwestcity.com/ as a kid and later took my kids there. Interesting place. Lol also Fairy Tale Forrest https://www.fairytaleforest.com/ and Land of Make Believe https://www.lomb.com/ (Jump Jenny Jump) The Jersey hot spots.

Not to be a downer on my own thread but a tragic event occurred at WWC in 2006.

During a staged Wild West shoot out skit an actor was shot in the head with live bullets. He survived but is paralyzed. Turned out someone brought two boxes of bullets into the prep room. One with blanks and one with live bullets. The shooter loaded his gun with live bullets by mistake. It sadly sounds like a Columbo episode. Here is the piece from our local paper.

PSS- All is thankfully well Dan I hope the same with you and other DISer’s.

I remember when that happened. We used to call the land of make believe “the land of retired carnival rides”. The kids loved it, my IL’s live 10 minutes from there.
