On 3 day Wonder cruises are there any activities for the 18 - 21 year old age group?

(too old for commoon grounds, too young for the over-the-hill gang)....

Tell them to check out the activities at the adult clubs....70's night, etc. Check the Navigator's. They can usually seek out the D.J....they are pretty good at telling them what there is to do.

On the 7 day my DD18 had a ball in the Nightclubs. She actually hung out with the "over-the-hill gang" for awhile and had a great time..go figure!!!! She went to 70's night, 50's night, Match your Mate game, Tropical Party. She met others her age also and had a ball!!!

This is the age group that is in libo. There are really no planned activities for the 18 - 20 group. Yes they can go into the adult areas but they also can not drink since the drinking age is 21. Disney needs to have more activities scheduled for that age bracket. Our now 21 yr old son went on the first two DCL cruises with us but opted out our 3rd and 4th DCL cruise, his reason was it was boring. Next Spring Break we are not taking our sons who will be 19 at that time. We will wait until they are 21 if we bring them again. Kathy

i hope my daughter doesn't see your response.....
although girls may be somewhat more social animals than boys (after all, they can just talk for hours and think they've had a good time...)

well....considering this whole disney cruise thing is at her instigation i sure hope she has a great time.....
but i'll tell her to go check out the nightclubs...of course, then we get into the smoke problem....hmmm.....
oh well...i'm all paid up....no turning back now.....

my 15 year old son was looking at barb's pictures of common grounds and he actually said "wow".....so there's hope that he might actually have a good time too...

truth is, i'm not all that worried about my daughter....she tends to attract an entourage of friends wherever she goes.....
as i said, this cruise thing was her idea because she wanted to meet kids from all over.....so......here's hoping....

and who knows....maybe we'll like it so much we'll join the ranks of the cruisaholics...:D

I had a 17 DS and 18 DS and when we cruised last year they had a blast. I had worried about the 18 year old since he was to old for the teen activites. However, my 17 year old avoided the teen area. Being teenagers they slept late and didn't come to bed until early am. They liked the nightclubs (they didn't question the 17 yr old who is 6'2" and looks older) and then hung out with others their age. Everyone enjoyed the cruise so much we are going back in June and this year they will be 18 and 19 and they don't seem worried about what they will do. So if anyone is on the June 16 wonder, there will be at least 2 young men to hang out with.

If you every seen my other posts on the board our teens had fantastic times. It was only after our oldest was not allowed at all into Common Grounds was when he got bored. Remember he is a male. He does not think sitting by a pool is a good time. Females usually do enjoy sitting by pools. Our teen boys this year were 18 when we went over Spring Break and they had their best time ever. We just know next year Common Grounds will not let 19 yr olds in at least that is what happened to our oldest son when he was 19.

We do encourage our friends with teens to try Disney. They will love it and you won't hardly see them because they will hang out with their new found friends. We have two families who just don't believe us. After all the mouse and the gang are aboard, to them that is below them. Not us, we love it.

The problem with our oldest was on his last cruise there just was not that many on board his age. He did meet a few and I mean a few. He ended up having fun but opted out of not going the following year. He would rather go when he can be sure to meet more people his age. I would guess this would be after age 21 (which he is now) and when he is able to pay for his trips (which would be after his college years.) Kathy

When my boys were in their early teens 13-14 they were so anti-mouse and characters. I remember being at WDW and going to Chef Mickey's and the older one wouldn't go in. They started to refuse to go to any meals that had characters. Unfortunatley, that is about the time that WDW changed all the buffets to character buffets. So here you have two hungry teenagers, who need to eat but refused to go to the character buffet. Now that they are 18 and 19, the characters no longer bother them and it is like being a little kid again. I agree that boys won't hang at the pool, but they will do the basketball court. Mine were up playing late at night. Being the summer with more teens on vacations, you increase the odds of your teens finding other older teens. I am fortunate that my sons are close in age and if worse comes to worse they can do things together. The only vacation my kids have complained about being bored is the one we spent at Vero Beach for 3 days, there was absolutely no teens there. I do agree that they should try to have some more organized activites for them, but would that group really do them. Plus they don't get out of bed real early, so would have to be late afternoon or evening. Number one disney family, wish I was going on an earlier cruise, but have to work in graduation end of May and then the18 DS has to go to Senior Week before he would even consider the family vacation. Kathy too bad we aren't on a cruise together since you have 18 yr old sons. This hopefully will be our last June vacation and can go back to spring vacations while the boys are in college.

We were on the Magic over Christmas last year and my DS's were 20 and 18 at the time. All I can say is that when I asked if we should book again for this year (12/14-21) I got a YES! YES! YES! They spent time at the adult pool, in the hot tub and at the clubs in the evenings. I wanted to go to one of the "talks" during the day and they both went with me - as well as taking the kitchen tour. This time our oldest will be 21 but I imagine his activities will not change (other than the bending of the elbow and what is in the glass!). :smooth:

:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: Hey padisneyfan, when are you 'cruising in June? We are on the June 22nd Western and I have two 'teens as well. My oldest is 17(will be 18 in Sept.) and he and his younger brother(13) are really looking forward to it!!! We went on the 4-day 'cruise back in 1999 and this time he is really looking forward to being one of the "older" 'teens!!!! He is a real basketball fanatic too!!!! SEE-YAA!!!!!!!!!!!

Grumpy's crew, We are doing the 4 day Wonder June 16. Enjoy the Western cruise. Hopefully, my next trip will be the 7day Western.
