Activating old AP voucher

I read somewhere on here old DVC AP vouchers would be Platinum when activated, rather than Gold, but thought that was speculation, rather than experience.
Has anyone activated an old DVC AP voucher yet?
Did they make it Platinum, as they should, or Gold?

They definately won't make it gold. I thought they'd keep it exactly as it was; a normal AP without photopass benefits. But I've read reports that they activate it as a Platinum pass. But there's no way they could possibly activate it as a gold pass.

I did. I bought a voucher in November 2014 and activated it on December 5, 2015. I got a platinum. I already downloaded my free photopass pictures so it works!

We bought AP vouchers prior to the price increases and new passes. We received the Platinum passes when we activated on December 1. Didn't even have to ask. CM just volunteered that we would be receiving the platinum passes. We activated at the TTC since we were staying at the Poly.

I purchased a PAP last year and activated it. When we use it again this year, will it have the photo pass on it or is there an up charge to pay to include it? I asked CM when I called Member Services today and she said no, I could not ad it. Anyone here know? Thanks

If you activated it prior 10/4/2015, it will not have the PhotoPass download entitlement.

To get the PhotoPass download entitlement prior to your expiration date, you would need to pay the difference between what you paid for the PAP and the current DVC price for the Platinum Plus Pass (new version of the PAP).

We renewed our AP's about 2 weeks before the price increase. We went down in November and they were activated as Platinum. Going again next week and November before they expire. Hoping to get 3 trips out of them - the most out of one AP for us.

You will have to select one of the new pass levels. As long as you renew during the window, you will be eligible for the renewal rate for the new pass level.

Ok so I can renew at Gold level or Platinum level? and I get to chose either. If I renewed at Gold level and then decided to do Platinum you can up grade to that right? I could not find these charts when I went online to different site. Thanks so much.

Yes.

Yes. You would pay the difference between the price you paid for your current pass and the current price of the new level. If your pass was purchased at a renewal rate, the difference would be based on renewal rate of the new pass level. Mid cycle upgrades are not prorated and your expiration date would be unchanged.

Ok think I got it. Thank you both. Boy this is getting confusing. I am sure they will raise prices AGAIN before I renew in May...they raised them 2X last year.
