Activating a SoCal Select AP on a blackout day?

My family will be going to Disneyland tomorrow and plan to visit the parks on Monday and Tuesday. My husband was able to buy SoCal Select APs from work at a discounted price. I'm under the impression that we need to bring these somewhere once we get on site to activate them. How does this work exactly? Ideally we would do this tomorrow evening so that we can get to the parks for opening on Monday.

Also, I just read on another thread that it's possible to use APs on a blackout day the first time you use them. Might it be possible for us to enter the parks tomorrow night instead of waiting until Monday? Or would we have needed to purchase them tomorrow at Disney? Or does that only work for certain APs?

Can anyone let me know what to expect? Thanks!

Yes, if you activate the AP on a block-out day you can use it on that day! They will give you a paper ticket that will be good for that day only, along with your regular AP card. Have fun!

Another question... Since we can go in when we get there tomorrow, what would be a great Disneyland introduction for our kids ages 5 and 7. Probably won't stay out too late since we're planning an early morning on Monday.

How late will you get there? I like riding the Main St vehicles, which stop before the first parade. Of course, I've walked down Main St many times, you may want to do that instead. You could go to Mickey's house in Toontown, then ride the train from Toontown back to Main St. You'll pass through the Dinosaur/Grand Canyon scene between Tomorrowland and Main St. When you're near Toontown you'd also be near IASW and Mickey & the Magical Map which should still be showing at 5pm. I think they might be shooting AFV tomorrow. The last few days there has been a stage in front of the castle, so I'd save that for the next day.
