I often accidently get people's profiles. When I go to my favorites and click on something, trying to navigate away from the DIS, it often picks up whatever happens to be underneath.

I've always wondered if people wonder why I'm visiting their profile!

I don't know what is sadder, the fact that I've been a dis'er since 2004 and only have a little over 300 posts or the fact that only 24 people have visited my profile....sigh.

ETA: Also, if you see my screen name on your profile, it's probably because I fat fingered trying to hit a post on my mobile and hit the posters name instead.

I looked at the names listed on mine and can only figure out why 1 of them was/is there. The others I have no clue why they became interested in me.

From their posts it looks like someone involved with the DIS--they answered questions pertaining to when the search was run by Board Tracker (Do we still have that here?) Anyone who asked a question on his profile page had their question answered by a deedeebear who has few posts and seems to stick to the game board.

I have only intentioanlly "visited" someone maybe five or six times. Generally when I think I remember a poster in a thread I am reading having posted in other threads and want to look up what else they have posted to see if it is who I think it is. I am one of those who often accidently clicks on someone's name and ends up visiting unintentionally. That happens a few times a week. I would hazzard to guess that at least half of anyone's visitors are likely to be such accidents.

I never noticed that statistic, but I've had 352 visitors, and none of them recently enough for names to show up. Either I'm fabulously interesting or I've p*ssed a lot of people off! Also, apparently, it counts your own visits, because now I'm at 353 after clicking on my own name.

The names don't go away, they only go away when there's one or two people bumped off the "Recent Visitors" thing to make room for one or two more people to view your profile. Its hard to explain. I do understand it, though.

You can visit anonymously if you logout first. It doesn't even show up as "guest" or anything .

I noticed the same thing when I looked at yours last night! I just knew that had to be the trend. I'm sure it has to do with the beautiful picture in your avitar.

Click on your name, and then click "view public profile".

If you click on your username a window opens. One of the options is 'view public profile', click that and you will see the visitor info.
