I can't believe I did this...Is there any hope for getting the stains out?

Try hair spray. I've never had that magnitude of ink stains, but it does work when my kids have accidentally written on their clothing. Just spray it on and rub it in.

Yep--try hairspray. I've done this and ruined my favorite pair of khaki pants. Well, I refused to give up and kept treating them with stain stuff and then finally someone told me to try hairspray. It took awhile, but it did come out. I feel your pain.

I'll have to add hairspray to my shopping list. This isn't the first time I've done this...this time I messed up some of DS's clothes that he hasn't even worn yet so I really want to try to fix the mess I made!

I second the hair spray.
My use has shown that good 'ol "heavy duty" Aqua Net or similar,
from an ozone depleting spray can works best.
Spray on liberally, rub in (not too hard)
then wash in cold water with detergent.
You probably already know this but do NOT
put them in the dryer until the stain is gone to your satisfaction.
If you've already dried them, well.... Might work, might not.

Already dried. :guilty: Didn't notice the ink stains until after they were dried and I was taking them out of the dryer. I'll see what I can do...It's only a few things...it's just that they were brand new and I feel like such an idiot!

Depending on the type of fabric, I've had very good luck with Lestoil (using the hottest water the fabric can tolerate)for both ink and grease stains.

I have done that before and its when I was working as a medical assistant. All my white uniforms were ruined. Since they were already dry when I found them I never could get the ink out. Good Luck, I hope you can save some of your clothes!

I've done that too.. use that hairspray anyway.. scrub it well with an old toothbrush. You can also alternate using the hairspray and believe it or not Milk.

You will probably have to treat it several times (washing inbetween..but do not dry again until it is out).

Good luck.

I asked this question too here on the boards in sept. My ds left a pen in one of their white uniform shirts. I did aquanet, liquid tide and an oxy spray cleaner all at once. Did about 4 washes and it was as good as it could be. Some came out and some didnt. Good luck. Just keep spraying, rubbing and scrubbing.

I've washed and dried red pen with my uniform back in my waiting tables days. The hairspray did the trick.
