Had to wait for jetblue fares to come out before booking our oct/nov trip and now can't get availability at any of our choices. Our first choice was BLT, then AKL, then BWV. I was going to waitlist 1 of them, but not sure which. Any advice. Also, can I have more than 1 waitlist at a time?

You can have 2 waitlists at a time (I think per year, actually). But you have to waitlist by category, so at BLT, you can't just waitlist a 1BR, you have to waitlist 1BR by view...so there, it's better to pick lake view to waitlist because the bulk of rooms are LV, so you have a better chance.

Given that it's Food & Wine time, I think BLT or AKL are more likely to come through than BWV, so I'd concentrate on those 2.

I agree. BLT and AKV are more likely to come open. Also for next time, book the room and then once the fares come out you can adjust days (add or drop one off the ends) if you don't have to shift entire weeks due to the fares.

thanks everyone. i was able to get a reservation at SSR and waitlisted for BLT lake view. I am waiting to hear opinions from the rest of the family before I decide on the 2nd waitlist. REALLY hoping BLT comes throo. Have never stayed there!

Remember, they don't notify you right away if your waitlist comes through. (No email is ever sent.) I waitlisted BCV in Feb. and checked the website every third day. It came through and I did not receive my confirmation by mail for almost another 2 1/2 weeks. Good luck!!

Does the waitlist turned reservation show on the member site immediately/shortly after it transfers ?

I think so, I was checking every 2 or 3 days and after about 3 weeks, there it was on the member website. I did not receive any other notification until the revised confirmation ("the yellow envelope") came later by mail. Looks like you have lots of time . . hopefully yours will come through too. (But SS is a fabulous resort! We plan to stay there again in Feb 2012. )

Not immediately. I happened to know I got a match on the wait list the other day when I called for something else, but because I didn't want to sound pushy, I just said "Oh cool" to the CM and finish my call without make her book that room for me, I assume they will it will be done by the end of that day. The new reservation didn't show up on the website until 2 days ofter.

I always book the rooms first because they can almost always be changed to accomodate flight days. Then I wait for JB to extend their schedule and I book immediately.

Next time make one or more reservations (depending on your points availability) while waiting for the fares. Worse case scenario is things don't work out for that time and you have to change or cancel. You'd be no worse off than where you are now and possibly would have had what you wanted at BLT or AKV.

We do the same thing. When the schedule gets extended if it doesn't work you still have time to cancel the reservation. Of course you could always start driving down like we did. We have been going 3 to 4 times a year. The only way that works for us is to drive twice. When we take the kids out of school we fly to limit the time missed. The second flight is a wife and I only trip:cool1: so it isn't as expensive.

Sorry to hear you didn't get the resort you wanted, but I just wanted to wish you the best that your waitlist comes thru for you.
