We just got back from a 12 day trip to Florida on Sunday. A few weeks ago, I was doing some research for that and our upcoming November trip and found the deal on Mousesavers for Universal tickets. They give you the code from a Burger King coupon that entitles you to "buy one year AP, get one year free" so basically it would cost the same as getting 2 years of 2 day tickets, which we've done in the past, but with the freedom to do more days. Having one would also entitle us to AP rates on the hotel (which I already used for PBH for November).

DH and I kicked around the idea of doing it, because we go to Universal every Thanksgiving. At the time, I was also thinking MAYBE we would go on this last trip, but then we ended up not doing it because we were staying offsite and figured we'd just wait until we're staying onsite in November to do Universal for FOTL. In Florida, I told DH to look at Mousesavers when he got home (he was only staying for 1/2 the recent trip), and to let me know if he thinks we should order them. He decided "yes" and he did. (He was only home and at work for one VERY hectic day before he left on another trip, so apparently his mind was on overload.)

He just emailed me this:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Universal 2 Yr Passes: Received them fine; unfortunately they need to be redeemed by 9/30/03.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What are we supposed to do???? This is almost $1000 worth of tickets for the 5 of us, and we wouldn't be redeeming them until November!!!

Ugh! I think I'm going to be sick!!

EEK!!!

Well, you can try contacting Universal and see what they recommend...

If that doesn't work, maybe someone can buy some of them off you. I would, but my AP doesn't expire until March and with the AAA discount for AP, it wouldn't save us any money. :(

No chance you can make a one-day trip to redeem them???? :p

Sorry it didn't work out!! Hopefully someone will come to the rescue for ya...that's a lot of money to have go to waste!! :(

Call Universal. I was told in an E-mail that you can redeem in November, however the 2rs expire September 2005. You should be fine. If you send me your E-Mail address I will send you a copy of the E-Mail I got.

Firefly, I think ALL of us would have to be there to redeem them, since they are APs. If I could do it alone, I'd be perfectly willing to inconvenience myself and make the trip! ;)

jetfan, PM on the way!

yeah, I realize that...:)

Anyway, hope things work out for you then!!! I'd be sick to my stomach too if I spent all that money and then couldn't use them! :o

Also, just an FYI to everyone on these passes...when I went to the AAA office to buy 3 of them, I had the coupon with me, and the cashier told me that was the first one she had seen! She said they've been selling a lot of these passes, and nobody had brought in the coupon, and that you don't need it. Nothing to do with the previous posts, but just for info.:(

I would call Universal now, and explain it to them. The eariler the better alot better then showing up in November and asking them.

I would call rather then e-mail, ask for Robi Robichauk as the head of Guest Services he can help you out. (407) 363-8000

More then likely they will say "not our fault you didn't read the expiration date" they are nice sometimes and may just let you redeem it when you go but you need to call them now. The longer you wait the more likely you won't get anything done.

Everything's fine...except that I think my BP rose a few points.

DH called Guest Services. The last date of use for the tickets is September 30, 2005. So in order for you to get two years out of them, you need to redeem them by September 30, 2003 but you don't have to redeem them by then.

Still, I'm going to email them and get it in writing, just to be sure.

You'd think they'd make it a little clearer!! If we had actually noticed that they "needed to be redeemed by 9/30/03" we wouldn't have gotten them!

i am so glad it worked out for you. Enjoy your passes. Great investment!!!
