OMG, I'm sitting here dying. A skunk must have sprayed someone (or something) near my house. Or, one was hit by a car. Nonetheless, it smells horrendous here....the odor is so strong you'd think the skunk was IN my house. :faint:

My dog keeps scratching at the door to go out but I'm afraid she'll come in all skunkified. I'd almost rather her 'go' on the floor :rotfl2:

Plus, DH went to bed early because he has the flu. He likes to keep the windows open in the bedroom, so I'm sure it smells nasty up there. I just may have to sleep on the sofa tonight :guilty:

UGH. :crazy2:

oh my I can't imagine having the flu and smelling a skunk. Not a combination i want to be a part of.

We used to have a skunk live in the neighbor. He did get run over after a couple of years, thought too bad for him but at least we won't have the smell. Turns out there are others.

Blech!!!! :faint:

My huskies got sprayed by a skunk last summer, and of course it had to happen in the middle of the night! There I was, hosing them down in the front yard at 2 a.m.! God only knows what the neighbors thought!! :hyper2:

Also, check around your house for any where they could be setting up house.....under foundation, around AC units, any type of hollow logs/trees etc. I have a small space near my AC unit, and yes I've had skunks, a couple of years ago, set up house in there. OMG-until the critter guy could get them, my house smelled like a skunk for a couple of days.

About 5 years ago, I had one chew through the plastic tubing that runs from my dryer and it got in the house!!!! Scared the **** out of me. He got out on his own and I changed the tubing first thing the next morning.

If you think you do have them, here's some tricks to try,not saying they will work 100%, butworth a try. Pour amonia around where you think they maybe, and pour some on rags and stuff into holes in the area. Also, at night, when they are out prowling, have someone put chicken wire over where you think they may live. Bad thing about that, spring is when they have their babies, and if the babies are inside and can't get fed.......eeeewwwwww.......Or a humane trap, but moving them can be tricky, not only for the spray but you need to check with local officials about re-locating, are you allowed?

We leave near a tortoise preserve so we have much wildlife, skunks, possums, raccons, foxes, etc. But, knock on wood,I have only smelled a skunk once so far in 2006. I think he was just passing through.

Also, make sure your animals are updated on rabies shot, it's that time of year where it seems to increase.
