Ace, Me, & the Guy with CP *An update on Bill Pg. 70*

Sorry this is so long, but heck I have to get through our first day in Disney

First off...nothing in a TR is ever too long. I love the play by plays. And secondly thank you for the mini dinning reviews with pictures. After I ate my tuna fish sandwich while reading the update I imagined I was having that cheesecake for dessert. It was yummy!

Hooray! :cheer2: Another update! :goodvibes

We were in the 60's section also. Can't remember the room number just now but we were on the second floor, away from the pool in the area with Baloo. It was soooooo quiet there! The only other sounds we heard the entire 6 days was the whoosh of the Pop toilets! :rotfl2:

I love that Kermit pin with the Mickey ears. How did I miss that one?

Also the photos of the food from Captain Jack's will make that a mandatory stop on our next trip. I have never had lobster but that photo had me drooling!

Can't wait to read more!

All those pins!!!! Way to go on the shopping!

I agree about World of Disney...too crowded and people act crazy in there!

I'm glad the wheelchair thing was solved at the restaurant...you and Bill must be very patient to deal with being sat at bad tables all the time!

The ribbons on the hooks is a great idea-and I love that they're lime green!

Hedy, some bus drivers loved it, some didn't listen to me, and one well you will have to wait to read about him :sad2:.

Maybe you two should move to Florida since Bill does so well there! :rolleyes1
I am just loving your TR Tracy! Thanks for posting. :) Sounds like a great night at DTD - nice to get some shopping done on day 1!

Tell Bill he can chime in anytime on your TR. It would be great to hear his perspective on things. ;)

Hi Michelle, Bill has talked about moving to Florida before. He wants to get his master's degree first . We did have fun shopping that day.

Bill wants to chime in on the TR, but right now school rules. He has a 45 page proposal he has to turn in before Thursday. He also gets his final exam in his other class on Wednesday, it has to be turned in by Monday. He says he can not wait until Monday afternoon.

FABULOUS FIRST DAY!!!! I think we had the same bus driver:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Great update. I love your pics.

I was hoping someone would recognize him so I could write an email to WDW about him, that's why I posted the pic :lmao:.

Nothing like spending money.:thumbsup2
We just finished Day one...nice...

Many more days, weeks, months of reading to come.

Jordan, it felt great to spend that money. I know Day one was pretty long. It seems I am rather long winded in my installments and can't seem to help it :scared:. I don't see my writing changing any time soon, LOL. I keep remembering things while I am typing.

Looks like fun on day 1 cant wait to read more!

Hey Tink, thank you so much for reading our TR. It was great fun. I kept thinking to myself, we are in Florida, we are in Florida and just smiling.

:rotfl: You recognize that butt?
Great update! I have a feeling we'll be in the same expensive boat with the buying of the pins in about 1 week!

That's right, I'm leaving in 6 days so I would like to read at least one more installment before I leave. Make it happen Tracy! PLEASE!

I can't wait to hear more!

Hi Monica, we loved pin trading. I don't know if you know this or not, but CM's with green lanyards only trade with children, they usually have some great pins from what we saw. Lucky you leaving in 6 days, have a great time. I will put up at least one more installment before you leave, I promise.

YAY New pins, and it's only the FIRST day !!! Didn't I tell you.....it's a very addictive and expensive hobby

Hi Donna Lynn , yes it was only the first day and we didn't slow down much when it came to buying more. There are worse things to be spending money on though, LOL.

I love your pre-trippie, everyone here needs to read it!!!

Way to go Tracey on the update!!:thumbsup2
:sad2: People with evil eyes!!!:sad2: I can give them right back!!!

Hi LeeLee, I knew you would be able to relate to the "evil eye" issue. I am glad you did what you did. People should not act like that, the rudeness in this world amazes me.

Anyway, I love those pins!! And WOW ya'll had a BIG day! I think we also might have had the same bus driver once!!!
Hope ya'll made the rope drop!!!

We had a bigger day than I had planned for, I was worn out. Many people recognized our bus driver :rotfl:.

Tracy and Bill, I love the way your TR is going. What a wonderful way to start my dreary Monday morning!
I've started my own TR, but after reading yours, I"m totally intimidated. How do you remember to take pictures of everything? I'm so bad at that.

Hi, Thanks for the kind words and thank you for reading. Do not be intimidated, I started reading your TR and it is GREAT!! I love to take pictures, I guess I feel I have to capture everything.

Bill does look really happy. I think you should always start a trip with a little shopping, its kinda like getting your feet wet. I also think sending things back to the room is convenient and wonderful, but then you get back to your room and you're like, "OMG, how am I going to get all this home?". Its so dangerous!

Bill was extremely happy. I think we will do DTD the first day from now on. I love sending things back to the room, that way I don't have to worry about either losing or breaking things.

I definately had that "OMG, how am I going to get all this home?" moment. Thank goodness for Momof2wCF. She told me to pack a duffle bag just in case our luggage was overweight, well it wasn't overweight, but I needed it for all the extra stuff.

Great part I want to read more though :thumbsup2
Can't wait for the next installment and more of those pics!!!

I have never eaten at Captain Jacks it looks yummy :)

Stitch, I have many pics :lmao:. We enjoyed Capt'n Jacks and will be going back.

First off...nothing in a TR is ever too long. I love the play by plays. And secondly thank you for the mini dinning reviews with pictures. After I ate my tuna fish sandwich while reading the update I imagined I was having that cheesecake for dessert. It was yummy!

Hi MRYPPNS, I always worry I am going on and on and boring everyone to death. I will do a couple of mini dining reviews throughout the report. That cheesecake was awesome!!

Hooray! :cheer2: Another update! :goodvibes

It was really quiet for us too, I didn't even really hear the "whoosh", I guess it is because we live in an apartment building and I am used to hearing that ?

I love that Kermit pin with the Mickey ears. How did I miss that one?

I don't know how you missed it. Now you have to go back to get it :rotfl:.

Also the photos of the food from Captain Jack's will make that a mandatory stop on our next trip. I have never had lobster but that photo had me drooling!
Can't wait to read more!

Bill really enjoyed it, he had me try a bite I liked it too.

I agree about World of Disney...too crowded and people act crazy in there!

I'm glad the wheelchair thing was solved at the restaurant...you and Bill must be very patient to deal with being sat at bad tables all the time!

Hi, we usually do not go crazy like that on the first day. We have talked about just skipping World of Disney from now on, it is just too frustrating for us. Being with Bill has taught me to be very patient, we just talk to each other while we are waiting, and heck we were in WDW, we couldn't get upset about it.

Believe it or not, I know it is still doing that wierd thing with the quotes, I have tried to delete the extra quotes 4 times and I am getting frustrated here, so sorry for the way it looks.

I liked this one so much that I bought one for myself after seeing in on Bill!! :lmao: That was so funny about Bill not wanting to watch the game because you might turn into a crazed fan-atic!! I don't follow football, myself, so I would be making a major sacrifice to allot Disney time to the ESPN Club!

Ahhh...ten more days! Heaven! Can't wait for more...

Kathy

I am glad you got that pin!! Yes, it was funny about Bill, I seem to get a little too involved in watching the game:rolleyes1 , must be the former cheerleader in me :cheer2:.

Not going to talk about the Colts/Pats game, huh?? :confused3 :rolleyes1

Oh, I am going to talk about it, but I wrote out the next couple of installments and if I put the Colts stuff :sad2: the next post it would be entirely too long, so it will is probably 2 installments away.

Great trip report so far!!
Being from right here in Indianapolis it is hard when you are away and we are playing those "evil Patriots":rotfl:

I'll be watching for your next installmentpopcorn::

Any chance I'll get to read about your MVMCP before I leave in 7days ? I need touring ideas to steal read about.

I've been out of commission with my own little trip to Las Vegas and then a four day flu bout, but I finally got caught up today and it's great so far. I cried over the roses. So romantic. I'd have to send them to myself as DH wouldn't ever think of it. Kinda loses the zing if I have to send them to myself. And I'm exhausted with your whole first day.

I'll be waiting for the next installment.

dseth, that cracked Bill up!! I will be talking about the Colts soon, it is just that the next installment is a bit too long already .

LOL, I hope what I told you in your pre trippie helped a little bit.

Pakey, so sorry to hear about you having the flu, I hope you are better. I cried over the roses too, LOL. He is always romantic like that. I was exhausted that first day too.

Hey Tracy and Bill...
popcorn:: popcorn::

No rush. This was on page 2.

Thanks Jordan :thumbsup2, I needed to be kicked back into gear.

When I last posted we were in the room and I was looking at the pile of luggage I had to deal with. I finally got everything put up where I wanted it, put Bill’s pins on the lanyard he got from Donna Lynn, put Pal Mickey’s pirate outfit on him, helped Bill to bed then finally went to bed. WHEW!! (Just reading that makes me almost as tired as I was that night.) The alarm was set for 8am!

I didn’t even remember my head hitting the pillow and the alarm clock was already going off. I can’t believe I never asked for a wake up call to hear Mickey and Stitch :sad2: . I heard Bill from the other side of the bed saying, “one more hour”. I was still worn out so I reset the alarm clock and went back to sleep. We took our sweet time getting around that morning. (I learned a lot from that day. Make sure to really rest the two days before you get to WDW, then you won’t be a worn out mess when you get there.) It was Epcot day!!

We finally got there around 10:30am. I know, I know you are reading this and shaking your head at us, but that is how we rolled that day and more days after that. Sad to say we didn’t make many rope drops, unless it was for Super Soap weekend, but that is another installment for another day.

We did what I never want to do when we first get to a park… eat. I told Bill that on the next trip on we will eat a little something in the room, so we don’t waste our time when we first get there eating. We went to the Electric Umbrella. There was a little boy in a wheelchair in front of me that looked like a burn victim. He and his family had a “Make a Wish Foundation” buttons on. I said hi to him and asked him how he was enjoying his trip. His face lit up and he said he was having a great time, he was a sweetie. I ordered a double cheeseburger, fries, cheesecake, and a soda for Bill and I got the grilled chicken with apple slices, a brownie, and water for me.

Pal Mickey approved of our selections:

After we ate we decided to see what we could do in Future World. Journey into the Imagination of Figment looked like a good place to start:

WDW2007Day2002EpcotJourney1.jpg

We walked in with a few other people and essentially walked on the ride. Here is a picture of the wheelchair accessible ride vehicle. Bill likes the way this one loads. Figment was as cute as I remembered it, we both enjoyed it.

We decided to go to the Land Pavilion next. A short little uphill hike and we were there. I had never been there. We were going to try things we had not done before. We went to the Circle of Life show. It was another walk in situation.

WDW2007Day2004EpcotCircleoflife.jpg

There was no one around the elevators. I always heard that it is full, with a line waiting :confused3 . We went down. We made our way to Living with the Land. We were alone going down and it was just us and a person on an ecv with her family going up, she went too fast entering the elevator and slammed into the inside wall.

WDW2007Day2005LWTLBill.jpg

Ok, here is where I went into taking picture mode. I was laughing at myself for doing it, but couldn’t seem to stop. Where else, but in WDW are you going to take pictures of bananas and pumpkins just because they are there? I won’t bore you with all those pictures. Here are some flowers and a pumpkin ‘earning its ears’.

The line for Soarin was long, so we decided to go over to The Seas with Nemo and Friends. There was hardly any wait at all, essentially another walk on. Here are pictures of the wheelchair accessible Clam:

It was time to go Talk Turtle with Crush. I was looking for it and geez, did they move it? We found a cast member and they took us to go wait for the next showing. As we were standing there alone in a little alcove in walks a CM, but not an ordinary CM, one with a light blue shirt and a shoulder bag. Oh my goodness, Bill and I look at each other and nod secretly… our eyes were conveying our thoughts “Dream Team member Alert”. Why did I get all nervous?:confused3 I know these things are random and he was looking for something, we had no clue what but we started talking to him. We talked for a bit and Bill was checking out his lanyard. Bill wanted to do his first trade and he got to do it with a Dream Team Member. Here was the first trader pin:

dalepiratepin.gif

Two more families showed up and the Dream Team member kept talking to all of us. He looked like he was listening to his little ear bud and then asked us a trivia question. Sadly none of us knew it. He gave everyone tattoos from the Jungle Book. Pal Mickey started shaking and I squeezed his hand, he told us about the Dolphin show that was to take place in about 30 minutes; we decided to watch Crush then go upstairs. The doors opened and we went to sit. The Dream Team guy followed us and stood behind us the entire show, but nothing happened. Bill was just happy to do his first pin trade. We already had a dream anyway, we were in Disney World.

We laughed at Crush, it is such a cute show and then made our way upstairs to see the dolphins. We love watching them twist and turn while they swam. We looked at the time and tried to figure out what to do. We decided it was time to head over to the World Showcase. Now not to give out TMI, but we needed to go to the first aid station for Bill’s needs. We utilized these in each of the parks and were very impressed with the staff. They were professional, helpful, and compassionate. On the way to the first aid station I stopped to take a picture of the Christmas tree:

epcottree.jpg

We decided to try the 3 Caballero’s. Bill and I had never been on it. We went through the wheelchair line and were told the wheelchair accessible boat would be along shortly. Next thing I know here come a couple behind us. The husband was using a cane, the wife was practically yelling when she said “they told us to come here”. They walked right past me, almost hit Bill’s arm, and cut in front of other guests that were getting ready to load into one of the boats. (Awww, our first experience with really rude guests, but not our last.) Bill and I just shook our heads and giggled :rotfl: . She must have really wanted to go on that ride.

I had looked at the ride vehicle and it looked easy for Bill to load into, what I didn’t really pay attention to is where I would sit. See the regular ride vehicles are benches. The ones in the wheelchair boat have seats on each side of the ramp, a little on the small side for my Pooh sized bottom. With Bill being all the way in the front and me being on the left hand size I had the sensation of the boat tipping to one side. Was it tipping, no not really, but boy my head thought it was. I started giggling hysterically, asking Bill how they would explain to his parents that we drowned on the Mexico boat ride :lmao: . I really can’t tell you much about this ride, because I was laughing through the entire thing. I had a serious case of the giggles. We got off the death trap and had to make our way to the monorail.

On the way out of the World Showcase, I overheard a man talking about the Colts – Patriots game. I stopped, Bill looked at me and I went over to the man. “Excuse me sir, where you talking about the Colts game”. He said “yes I was, it is in the 3rd quarter, Colts are leading”. Bill and I were smiling :) , we were happy to hear it.

We got to the swirling tornado area, better known as the walkway under Spaceship Earth and Bill starts laughing. It was so windy there that the wind was pushing me around, Bill thought that was hilarious.

Next installment… A freaky elevator, why the Indianapolis Colts should be mad at us, a fireworks display, and a “why” moment.

What's up with that Dream Team member?!? I would have been dying if I were you, with him behind you at Turtle Talk!

What's up with that Dream Team member?!? I would have been dying if I were you, with him behind you at Turtle Talk!

I know, what was up with him :confused3. He followed us in there and then said "I am just going to hang out behind you guys", we said ok and chit chatted with him some more.

I thought maybe he was going to give everyone dream ears or something, anything. He was messing with that ear bud thing a lot. I decided to just act like he wasn't there and enjoy the show.

WOW Tracey!!! I know how ya'll felt with the dream team member. we went through that a few times. That trying to act like you don't know it's a dream team member while KNOWING it's a dream team member is pretty rough on the nerves!!!:rotfl:

YAY!!! for the pumpkin earning his ears. i see he almost has them!!!

Love the update and not to spoil my TR or anything but (we never made rope drop!)

O.k. I'll be waiting to hear the answer to WHY?. What I want to know now is the Where? and the WHAT? then maybe I could figure out the WHY?!!!

What outfit does Pal Mickey have on??? We got ours the raingear and the safari outfit.
:goodvibes

LeeLee !! Yeah, the Dream Team guy made me nervous too :rotfl:. I feel sorry for that poor pumpkin forcing him to have ears :sad2:. Oh the why question I have might have some people not liking what I have to say about something, but it is my TR after all.

Pal Mickey has his Pirates outfit on. We don't have the raingear or safari outfit, that will be purchased next trip :thumbsup2.

That's so funny you should mention that about the ecv. I used to work at the Indiana Jones ride in DL and guests were always breaking our elevator because they couldn't control their ecvs. :lmao:
Your trip report is great so far, keep up the good work! :thumbsup2

Shake that Dream Team man down.....there must have been some goodies on his person...;)

3 Caballeros...Call me crazy but I liked the old one better.

Rude guests...I think they always make for a good story.

We too had a Dream Team Close Encounter... it was very disappointing. She actually approached Zachary (DS4) and talked to him - got right down on the ground at his level. Then she sent us on our way empty handed. :headache:

Your story about the Mexico boat is hillarious. :lmao: :rotfl2: I can just picture you guys!
